Had lunch here and we were the annoying customers who arrive at 1.55pm with the kitchen closing at 2pm. Even though we had missed last orders, they bent over backward to accommodate us, even bringing out a lamb bone for our dog. Food was good pub grub and real ale was very nice, would visit again when were next in the area. 8/10

I had thought that this was pretty good (from past experience), but today, as we were driving past, I suggested to the wife that we stop here. It was a bright sunny day and perfect for sitting out in the garden. The wife reminded me about the dog-poo scattered here and there about the garden, so we passed by. I would have given it 6/10 myself, but she would not.

I find this pub is fantastic. Great food and excelent service. I cant quite think why anyone would go any-where else. the cheff is class and worth so much, I would recoment this pub to everyone. I could not help noticing a comment left by mr Gordonschoices, I would like to ask if he is sure he was in the Old ham tree in holt. I think the menue was perfect, and it delivered... Oh it delivered.
Happy days, easy 10 out of 10

Have had a number of meals in the last two months - everything has been excellent - food, drink and the staff

I went visited this pub with my wife and although the bar staff were very helpful and drinks were reasonably priced, I was appalled at the food. Ridiculously over priced and nothing special at all. Extremely over the top menu which didn't deliver in the slightest. I will not be recommending The Old Ham Tree to anyone as a place to go and eat.
I was impressed with the refurbishment and as a drinking pub it works very well.

Had a great meal and pint of 6X with my family last week and can't believe the change in the pub since a few years ago. Lovely couple running it - so friendly, it was a great atmosphere and very clean and welcoming - will be going back!

Great refurbishment and now excellent food - such a friendly place to visit - really enjoyed both eating and drinking in there over the last few months.

This pub has improved beyond all recognition since it was finally taken over by a new permanent landlord committed to it for the long term. Now fully refurbished it is what it should be. A clean attractive friendly local with good food at fair prices. Give it a go

We took this pub over in December 2008. We have worked incredibly hard to improve the quality of both the beer and service in this pub, which had regrettably gone downhill somewhat over the past few years. In the Ham Tree now you can get a very clear fresh pint of 6x or Henry's IPA and we also usually have a Wadworth guest beer (at the moment it's Old Timer AND JCB!!!!!!) Although we are only here temporarily, we are looking to improve the future of this pub, but, as with the industry as a whole, the pub needs the supprt of the local village and everyone who lives in it! Please come and support your local pub. Thankyou.

We have been to this pub twice in 2008 since the new owners took over and we sat in the beer garden. On both occasions we were told they were closing early as the bar empty. We could stay and finish our drinks but obviously no toilet facilities or more drinks could be had.
Also we rang to find out about b&b prices and the lady answering the phone sounded rather unsure about current prices so asked the landlord in the background. After a little banter about her not knowing what he charged he begrudgingly came to phone and told me the prices. At around 30 it was a good price but we felt they couldn't have asked more and offered an English breakfast instead of continental. You need to push the boat out to entice custom. The blackboards outside the door saying Customers Wanted - no training needed says it all so we drove past and went to the Tollgate instead. It doesn't entice people in if they know it's dead inside.

I was unfortunate to visit thissouless, cheerless pub that is not even used by the locals. The landlord & landlady were pleasant but even they have had enough and are leaving. it seems like the brewery aren't interested in it and it is being allowed to fail. I wouldn't recommend this pub to anyone

A really friendly pub, making visitors feel very welcome. A pleasure to visit.
