Had lunch here recently and both mine and my partner's meal were good. Reasonable choice on the menu for veggies too. Sat in fairly quiet rear bar set out for diners as the front bar was busy. Only had the one pint (think it was Doom Bar) but tasted pretty good. Worth a visit if you fancy decent pub grub (think it was the only nearby pub serving food on a Saturday). Shame hadn't seen it in the evening as liked the look of the front bar.

Pub's fine, but food varies from delicious to dire. My wife says she'll never eat there again after our last visit!

only one ale on cask was tribute but boy was it well kept, quick enough service and a beer garden 6/10

I can confirm that this pub is now open. It has 2 bars - alight and airy one at the front and a darker one at the back with most tables set out for dining. St Austell Tribute & Wadworth 6X were the only 2 ales available with a Fullers London Pride clip turned round. Also off were the Black Rat cider and perry. Not a particularly impressive pub. Running out of drinks with a sunny weekend ahead may not make good business sense.

Good news! The word is out that the Horse and Groom is reopening soon. Here's hopeing

This great local is sadly missed. Bad luck, Leigh, after all your hard work.

Sadly this pub closed suddenly in late November (08). It seems the tenent, Leigh, who had put a lot of hard work in, got in to financial difficulties. It's to be hoped that the landlords will find another tenent. If not another genuine local pub bites the dust

Good local everyone welcome, food is spot on

An excellent pub with friendly locals and staff. Great selection of well kept real ales (and the home of Westbury Ales) and a food offering which is excellent.

Pompus and boing, many of the locals refer to this as the doom and gloom, I wonder why? Real beer can be found here.

A great pub. I used to spend most of my evenings there. I moved away from the area a few years ago and now make sure I pop in whenever I'm in the area. I was a bit worried when the pub was sold a few years ago, but it's actually got better and the range of real ales larger, including some brewed by the landlord on-site which are always very good. Staff and customers are all very friendly. There's a great quiz on a Sunday night in what used to be called the lounge bar which is really popular
