Tommas002, does this place expand in the warmth of the summer, then?
"in the winter the inside of the pub is a bit small"

agree totally with Tommaso002. Great country pub.

This is a great pub in the summer with a fantastic beer garden with views up to King Alfred's Tower. There are good local ales on tap and the staff are very friendly. The food is probably a bit overpriced (though sill pretty good) and in the winter the inside of the pub is a bit small, but for an evening summer drink it can't be beaten.

21/07/2006. A pleasant out of the way country inn. Near to Stourhead and Alfred's tower. Nice garden, friendly staff. Now non smoking within the pub. Has had a good local reputation for food but I am sorry to say that my last visit was a disappointment. The food is above average price for the locality and although the menu looks interesting the food was bland. The speed with which the food was served suggests a reheat job, not recommended for good fresh fish. Beer good.

Every time I visit the Bull the food is excellent and staff friendly.

Excellent country pub with restaurant. Good food, always good choice of real ale, nice ambiance and good value for money. I really enjoy visiting here for a drink or a meal
