Quality, home-cooked food made to order at reasonable prices. The owners are obviously passionate about their food and the quality of the ingredients used. The pub also has a beer garden with views across to Glastonbury Tor.

Recently visited the Downside with my parents and we all had the sunday roast. The beef was cooked to perfection and was served with 4 different veg, roast potatoes and yorkshire puddings. All meals are homemade along with a large dessert menu, again all homemade - this included the ice-creams and sorbets. The staff were very friendly and were extremely helpful. Once we had finished our meal we made use of the large beer garden which had play equipment for the children. Would recommend and will certainly be visiting again with the family.

I have always enjoyed the food here as a vegetarian. It has been cooked to order and much better than the average food pub. The meat dishes eaten by my companions seem to be well accepted too.
I would recommend the place.

Don't know if jason (qualified chef) is still there. I didn't eat but the menu suggested the sort of food that is either chucked in the microwave or the fryers or both. It's a two bar set up. Diners on one side and drinkers and telly watchers in the other.
