Swag and Tails, Knightsbridgeback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Was previously a good place with amusing, wealthy, and international local boozers monday-friday, now has changed hands, couldnt renew license.

Bought by Ecclestone's daughter (apparently his local, although I never saw Napoleon himself in there).
No doubt the plans for the next Punch Bowl are already well-advanced.

Like others before me, I felt that this was essentially a restaurant (or gastro-pub) rather than simply a pub. We didnt interact with the barman, other than to order drinks and pay, but had a longish chat at the bar with one of the regulars, who spoke very highly about the quality of the food. But I didnt eat there so cant comment; in addition it was very quiet mid-afternoon on a Wednesday (there were only three of us in there plus the barman) so as you would expect there was no issue in us getting served ahead of diners! They had a couple of real ales on Bombardier and Adnams Bitter. The Bombardier was an eye-watering 3.40 a pint; not the most expensive pint I have had in London, but it is certainly up there in the leading pack of expensive pints! The one thing that this pub does have going for it is an enviable location in a charming little back street away from the madness of Knightsbridge and Brompton Rd. So, dont go to this pub if you are looking for a traditional backstreet boozer, because it doesnt pretend to be one, but it is a reasonable refuge from the nearby shopping mayhem of Harrods.

Agree with most reviews. Went in today for a pint and rather wished i hadnt. Every table had a reserved sign on it. After paying 3.20 for a pint of Adnams without a single word from the 'barmaid' (the price was pointed to on the till) i jokingly said " i take it the bar stools arent reserved" Cue nonchalant stare so evocative of the disgustingly rude east european staff we have to put up with these days. How indicative of todays standards. They bent over backwards for the diners mind...Christ.

Called in here recently on a quiet Monday afternoon. Pleasant, light and airy bar area, bistro style serving a decent but pricey pint. Its a good find so close to the bustle of Knightsbridge.
I do agree with previous reviews about the staff - despite the quiet session (only 6 customers) the immaculately dressed barmaid was aloof and not disposed to pleasantries. I'm sure diners wil take preference on busier sessions.

On a nostalgic wander around my old stamping ground round Imperial College thought I'd visit my former local, the tucked away Prince of Wales on Fairholt Street. Damn, now a trendy wine bar, more about image than substance. Sneered at by the staff - obviously I shoulda had a loud braying voice and guffawed a lot... absolutely...
But back then it had the shabby charm of a local boozer: taciturn Hitchcock look-a-like landlord, and was frequented by tremendous mix of porters and kitchen staff from the local hotels; washed up actresses; and various wealthy types and aristocracy, not that you would know it, slumming it - Lady Gilbey (of the gin) getting sloshed and various minor Viscounts, Gerald Ratner after the fall... and all joining in tormenting the occasional hooray henrys that stumbled in... a loss.

Not the nicest pub in the area.I'll leave it at that.

Too-upmarket-for-its-own-good pub/resteraunt down some out-of-the-way streets in Knightsbridge. The only pub I've been in where I actually felt uncomfortable in jeans. And yes, the bar-maids can have a slight attitude. They seemed a little bored, waiting for their modelling agency to call them on their mobiles. I asked for two pints of something and she said, "Oh, I've poured out Kroenberg by mistake - would you mind having that instead?" Erm, yes I would, darling!!!!!!!

I have reluctantly visited this pub on a number of occasions. I say reluctantly because each time I am forced to go, I am struck by their terrible attitude towards customer service. Staff are rude, unhelpful and generally look down their noses at their customers with little or no reason to do so. The food is bland and rather un-inspiring, the wine list is nothing to get excited about and it is an expensive place to drink! As a resident of Knightsbridge, I can promise you that there are much better, friendlier places to go in the area.
