Popped in for a drink and a bite to eat with my wife because I heard some new people had taken over - again (when are Brakespears gonna learn). was not a great experiance - mostly because the servise was so poor and the place looks tired. The guy running front of house was arrogant and not very polite and as such we will not be going back.

Wonderful beer (Brakspears) in a very attractive area, let down slightly by a slightly dull interior and piped music, but worth a trip for the beer.

The Landlord/ Landlady who turned this pub around have unfortunately just left!

Good honest pub. Went here for Sunday lunch with family and the food was excellent and good value for money. Would recommend to friends and family.

Brilliant pub - new landlords have done a cracking job. It's unrecognisable these days, with great food, top beer and nice locals.
Highly recommended, especially Sunday lunch - wonderful!

I have known Alan (The Landlord) man and boy, he is self taught, using common sense home cooking, a good lad, hard working with his partner who provides excellent, friendly bar and waitress service they have transformed this pub in to a good eating and watering hole. If it is not on the menu Alan will do his best to provide for you. It is really quite a refreshing experience.Believe me I use a lot of different Oxfordshire pubs and this is one of the best.

Checked this out on the basis of the ratings here - was very dissapointed - dark, dingy, and deserted. Very unwelcoming.

The new ladlandies have done a great job! The inside of the pub is like new. The food is great and the atmosphere is cosy and friendly. Definitely recommended!

There is a new landlady taking over this pub next week.

This makes an excellent lunch time on a walk between Pangbourne and Henley-on-Thames.
