The BITE heading says 'closed' - but this pub is very much open, and was recently refurbished.

Please, please don't use the "Gastropub" title, it'll be a Numpy, Chav & Pikey pavilion as it has been for many decades!

Having recently moved from the valley onto the hill, I have to disagree!. As a customer last week, I was greeted by friendly staff, had a great pint and enjoyed conversation with the regulars! The new management talked at length of the new chef who starts in a couple of weeks, a much needed refurbishment is going ahead in October and i would add, that after the refurb, you visit this new gastro pub as it promises to be well received!!! The food offered in the area is terrible! Fingers crossed this will be a success!!!

A place for loud lads and chavs. Not the best place to go.

This was a squaddies boozer, thats why the IRA took a fancy to it. Guards have gone to be replaced by the local chavs, not a fun place for normal folks.

Oh yes - I like this place. Fri and Sat nights it's open until 1am. Settle down and watch the show - it's like watching a load of zoo animals shouting at each other. very funny :)

full of chav scum, always loads of trouble and generally not a very nice place to be.

Would rather go to Tescos and take a few cans home than set foot in this dump. It was blown up by the IRA in the 70's. They should never have rebuilt it.

Scruffy pub for local chavs. No decent beer and not recommended.
