Looks like the best of the pubs in Leominster, from the on-line reviews I looked at.
It didn't disappoint.
Two 1650s building knocked into one. All wooden furniture and creaky floorboards.
Four real ales on - my Ludlow Gold was perfect. Very good home cooked food.
Decent pub.

The first and the best of 4 Leominster pubs we tried. The ale selection wasn't the best in this small pub - Ludlow Best & Gold & Woods Parish were the 3 ales that were on. But this place has some real character. There are 2 small rooms. Locals appeared to be crammed into the smaller one. Service was fine on our visit.

Decent enough pub, with a reasonable selection of ale, mostly kept well. Sadly, I have to agree with others, service is patchy at times.

Oh dear. After several good experiences here, I was completely ignored by the barmaid yesterday in favour of a local who was standing behind me at the bar. So I decided to forego the Clun Loophole and went elsewhere.

Nice pub, decent beer selection from local brewers. Quite small but warm and friendly.

With so much bland corporate dross on offer it is nice to encounter a real pub with character and decent ale.

Yet another visit while in Leominster shopping for antiques. We thought they might have stopped serving food as it was just after 2pm but they were accommodating and the roast beef Sunday lunch for £6.95 washed down by an excellent pint of Mulberry Duck's Amber Sparkle was just what was needed. Ludlow Brewery's Best & Gold also still being sold. Cider is Stowford Press. Live music there today at 3pm.

Enjoyed a new beer to me today, Wood's Quaff. Ludlow Best and Gold also available as well as Otter.
|
Friendly wee pub full of character and characters. Superb pint of Wye Valley Bitter.

A week after "djw" and I couldn't stay long enough! There were 2 beers from Ludlow Brewery, a pale ale from Mayfields and the one I enjoyed at 2.60 per pint but, embarrasingly, I can't remember its name! We visited on a Saturday lunchtime and it was quiet, there were a couple of people eating plus a few locals in the back room watching rugby on a small TV (although I think they were going to show the England match on a bigger projector screen in the front room at 3pm - we had set off on our travels before then). I think they stopped serving meals at 2pm but it looked as if someone was able to buy a ham roll after that time. I would definitely try it again.

A strange one. Small, unspoilt, good beer, everything I usually love in a pub. But for some unfathomable reason I felt more uncomfortable in here than I have for a long time and I couldn't leave quick enough.

What a cracking Pub

My first BITE review, and fittingly the first pub I've been to solely on recommendations of BITE reveiwers.
Quite a nice little pub - but little does seem to be the operative word ! Had 4 beers on, all of which were local. I had the St Georges ale which was excellent.
Interior seemed to be a bit scruffy, but was clean.

This has to be the best pub in Leominster, a small gem, a must visit pub. Visited once when the fair was in the street outside and it was nearly impossible to get in or out. Very popular at other times too though, and always a good atmosphere. I think this is probably down to the Landlord and Landlady.
Sometimes has a fire lit in the small hearth in the right hand side room but this Saturday it was fortunately not lit as the room was tightly packed full of people watching the rugby. Great atmosphere as usual and a good choice of real ales. The St Austells Tribute was excellent and very well kept.

The Grapes does do a Sunday lunch in the winter months, also has live music on Sunday afternoons.

Visited during an annual gathering at Leominster, in a group of five. Very sweet of the staff to recognise us instantly. Everyone on good form and it was noted that the Banks's ales have gone to make room for local beers.
Pub a little more spacious and uncluttered, and filled with the warmth of a roaring open fire.
Continues to earn my recommendation.

this pub is what its all about ! the locals treat you as one of their own and the bar staff are just perfect !
|
Wells Bombardier was the guest choice when we visited this Banks pub. Quality pub with excellent beer and an open coal fire
|
Old and beautiful pub in the heart of the town, small rooms, friendly and a treasure. A must visit in the town but only had Pedigree on during my visit.
|
Continues to serve well-kept Banks's ales amongst others. Visited in April 2007. Excellent lunchtime food - the mussels were spot-on, and service - as always - was friendly and efficient. Everyone in the pub (staff and customers included) appeared to be enjoying themselves.
A fine pub - don't change it!

Excellent friendly pub & good beer. Open fire lovely on a cold day.

The pub has now stopped doing Sunday lunches, but the beer remains excellent. I visited the Grapes with a group on Saturday lunchtime 03/04/2004 and enjoyed Beowulf Beorma Bitter - exquisite. Staff and locals are very friendly.

I've got the fondest memory of this pub. I'm German and I spent some time in Leominster in 91. It was the first English pub I'd ever seen from the inside and it became my local for the six weeks I stayed in the West MIdlands.
|
Cosy, homely pub serving Banks's Original and Bitter plus a guest beer or two, all of which are in excellent condition. Good, wholesome home-cooked food lunchtimes. A small portable tv for sport is usually hidden away at other times. Very friendly. I recommend it to anyone passing through "Lempster" for any reason!
