What a difference! Went to this pub year's ago and it was like something from Deliverance. Went here recently after hearing it recommended by a Nant Peris resident and was very pleased.
Had a similar experience as another reviewer in that we arrived in the very early hours of Elidir Fawr and the landlord chatted with us to keep us awake as we waited for a taxi. Nice beer, good battered fish and chips and very polite and courteous service and everywhere very clean. We will be back.

The best pub AND the most wonderful landlord and landlady!
My friends were supposed to be coming off Elidir Fawr to meet me in the pub. But they got delayed in their descent. The pub let me stay on - after closing - to wait for them. And even turned on the lights outside the pub again so that they had an encouraging beacon at the bottom. Above and beyond! Completely amazing people. Not to mention the great atmosphere, friendly regulars and the really good ales...

AMazing food and good service.....Nuff said.

Food pricey and suspiciously(in my view)they put the price up of the meal we ordered from the price stated on the menu, saying the menu was old - hope it wasnt a Welsh/English thing. Needed a torch to go to the toilet as the light didnt work and no soap either! Shoulder of Lamb arrived really cold & chewy, no-one asked if everything was all right with the meal...maybe they know the answer!

indeed, food is on the up price-wise. better to stay under canvas and DIY maybe?! Still a cracking pint of beer to be had and the locals will either love you or widh you and your family dead. take it or leave it, with those views though i'll take it, thanks! especially if there's a fire going. ;-)

This is a nice pub with comfortable surrondings, opposite a handy campsite. Busy with tourists, not necessarily a bad thing as everyone is having a nice time. The food looked and smelled good, but too pricey for my pocket. Recommended though, a decent place for a pint at the end of the day.

Fantastic climber's/walkers/locals pub sitting right at the foot of Snowdon in the tiny village of Nant Peris in the Llanberis Pass. Hills and mountains are seen from every window, there's two bars (one for the locals, one for the visitors) a huge fire, a cosy dining room, huge flagstones on the floor, pool table (free if you ask Aled nicely), and a beer garden with views to die for. The food's inexpensive, prompt in the arrival and always tastes good, there's usually around three ales on tap (some locals, some guests), and a plentiful selection of climbing/fell-walking memorabilia spread over the walls, ceiling and floor. During the summer months this place is a honeypot for campers and walkers, in the off-seasons it's quiet and serves as the local meeting chambers for the locals (fantastic and just the way they like it). Ann is a wonderful host and this place always holds a special place in the heart of those who return to Snowdonia time and time again. They even have a campsite (well, a field), a bunkhouse and a cottage for rent!
