When looking for a Hotel in the area I came across the Royal by chance and decided to give it a try. I have returned to the area on numerous occasions during the past six months and would not dream of staying anywhere else. To me a friendly atmosphere and good food are more important than posh shower gel and a trouser press! At the Royal Im Bob, not room one two seven and whether I have Moules and a Filet Steak or just an omelette, I know I will get a generous helping of good quality food, nicely presented and served with a smile. The bar is quiet at the start of the week but becomes lively towards the weekend. Both staff and locals are friendly and welcoming which is much appreciated. Especially when staying away from home for long periods. This is a great place to stay with extremely reasonable room rates and an extensive menu of great food to suit all tastes.

Great Hotel. Have stayed here everytime I've been working in the area for past 18 months or so now. Rooms are standard but very reasonably priced and most importantly warm and clean. Bar and restaurant are great and have a good atmosphere especially on busy weekend evenings.

Was lucky to find this hotel a few months back and have never looked back! Lovely rooms, friendly staff and a restaurant that serves my kind of food. Plus all my favourite beer in the bar.
Highly recommend it.

This has got to be one of the worst "fleapits" I have EVER stayed in.
We booked 2 rooms, One single (34) and one twin (54). We were on the second floor, which is reached by climbing a mountain of rickety stairs. When we reached our level, it reminded me very much of the film called "The Shining" the one with jack Nicholson, where he goes mad ! Big Red Doors, panels missing out of the ceiling and random furniture including tables, chairs and TV's just lined up against the walls. Small things, but we had no kettle, no plug for the bath, not a very good signal for the TV The showers are of the variety that are connected to the taps for the bath and the shower head is then attached to the wall by a holder, however, ours was broken, so I had to hold the shower, whilst my partner showered herself, which wasn't for long, as the hot water went off after a minute or two and never came back on!!
I would strongly recommend that if you are going to be staying at sheerness for any reason, don't use this as a staying point. I must say though that the Pub area is very nice (never saw the restaraunt, as it closed at pm) and the landlord was very friendly, although the heating was not working the night we stayed, which was one of the coldest nights this year!
Also, avoid the Indian restaurant that is almost next-door, as I've had better out of a jar !! And it's expensive !!
