New management. It's been refurbished, the manager's are great, the live music has got better and better and it's well worth heading down there. Sunday's are normally a highlight for music.

Hey Anonymous I am prepares to travel to see some decent bands, due to that this area has 2, here and the Rising Sun in Slough. Suggestions would be greatly welcomed. The Flags used to have some excellent tribute bands, when Ritchie was runninng it. Ozzy, Gun n roses, ACDC but thisa pub has become a strip joint.

best pub in windsor, its the onnly pub not trying to be trendy, flash or anything its just got ur big fat english bloke behind the bar telling bad jokes and some brillant live music. 10/10

erm, hotlover, you need to find new places to watch bands. There are much much better places if you are prepared to travel a bit. Rough Justice are pretty pants in my opinion, the fat singer loves himself and the guitarist is the cheesiest oik around, me and my mates laughed at him and he thought we were saying how good he was. HA HA!
Anyway, that said, its an interesting boozer. Worth a visit but I don't reckon you will be back there too often.

one of the few pubs still to have live music, the range is quite diverse, I have seen some great bands here, Rough Justice, PFJ, Some Elvis impersinator, a great Paul wheller Tribute band but there have also been some right ponies. Beer is slightly over priced but it is Windsor!!! cover charge on the door after 10 and when there is a Tribute band but what is 3 quid nowadays, dont cover a pint! bar staff is damn friendly, so are the door men. Great place for a dance. A Pub, that if youi are into live music should be your local.

This is a bit of an incredible hulk syndrome with this place! At first it all seems nice, and then you get to know it, and it becomes very unpleasant. Musicians beware. If there are two of you muso's expect the payment, however, if only one of you turns up to play, expect half. And if you walk in there expecting to be able to chat for a few minutes before buying a drink then for gods' sake do not even enter the building ! used to like the place but no longer will i step foot in the place!

Tucked out of the way, badly lit, peeling paint, and suspiciously 'light' coloured beer. Gee honey, doesn't this beer taste watered down...With all this going against the place you think they would have tried to create an atmosphere, but with grumpy staff you may as well cross the river to Eton and take in the Henry VI which has live music and a lot more beer on tap that tastes..normal...

Nice idea to keep the ticket office as it was, makes life difficult to get to the bar unless you're under 5'6" though. Some talented bands appear (Jimi Hendrix tribute band superb). Don't expect quick service and take a towel as the heat turns the bar into sauna (great in the winter).

Watch out for The 4 Pillars of Wisdom & Rock'n Rollin Blues, two top bands both playing there regularly
|
Check out PUNCHMONKEY playing here on the 23rd Sept 2005. A great covers band and definitely worth a look.

Windsor's best kept secret, which is a shame cos its a top pub. Open til late, some great bands play here and there is a small but perfectly placed dancefloor in front of where the music is. Get there before 10 as there is a charge which also increases the later you get there.
Good management and definitely worth a visit on your night out in Windsor.

this is a small, quirkly pub that did actually used to be the ticket office for the station that backs onto it. It has a high ceiling and the bar is still in the shape of the ticket booths.
There is live music there fridays and saturdays, the pub serves nice yet rather expensive food and only a couple of lagers but due to its size I suppose thats expected.
Lit by candles, this enchanting and moody pub is almost hidden and if in windsor, it must be tried.
