I visited this pub for the first time yesterday and was very impressed. Good selection of drinks at cheap (for London) prices. Friendly staff. Service was good, and never had to wait long to be served.
The jukebox is online so always has the latest music along with a great back catalogue.
The food was of great quality - most people were ordering food at lunchtime. Not the most exciting menu but all our meals were faultless and excellent value.
I will definitely be coming back although it's a bit out of my way.

A flying visit whilst looking for jack the ripper locations. I know how to live. Typical london boozer. All very pleasant.

As previously stated this pub is mainly frequented by doctors & builders from the Royal London Hospital.
Only used it at lunchtimes and there's also people in, mostly a mix between people eating or just drinking.
Always found the bar staff to be quick and efficient but the prices on the beer are a little high.
Decent pint of London Pride on the occasions i've been in.
Not the worst pub in the area but with a bit more it could be the best.

This pub is mainly frequented by doctors and staff from the Royal London, a smattering of students, and I've even seen a hen party. It gets busy at times but the bar staff are generally quick and efficient (and friendly). Drinks are okay, the occasional flat lager aside. However the place could do with a serious tidy up or even a make over. Its general shabbiness is real put off. They do good trade so why not? A shame because Whitechapel is lacking in decent pubs.

I also work near by and drink in the good samaritans and i find the beer and ales always good. The bar staff and managers helpful.

I've only got bad things to say about this one.
I too work locally to here and have been twice - twice too many.
They clearly don't have a first clue how to run a pub, for which here are my reasons:
1) Music too loud and doesn't fit the intended ambience of the place.
2) Beer pressure all over the shop. Ordered two pints of Kronenbourg (thought I would be safe since previous visit featured god-awful ales that were undrinkable), one was flat the other over-carbonated. My girlfriend (incredibly politely) asked for another since flat lager is about as palatable as a wet sock. This request was flatly refused and the barman proceeded to pour her pint into another empty glass claiming that it helps to create fizz - it doesn't.
Pathetic excuse. Embarassing to call yourself a barman. Don't be so patronising (my girlfriend worked in a pub for two years).
3) No attempt whatsoever to appease our dismay and simply ignored the fact that I ceremoniously placed the almost full pint back at the bar.
4) They might as well be done with it and turn it into an Australian themed pub - at least we'd know what to expect.
Dire.

Have been several times as I work nearby. Serves two real ales London Pride and Directors.
The first two times I went the beer tasted off. However on the third occasion is was so rank awfully bad I complained and asked if I could have something else. I was told 'no' by the bar maid, other people were drinking it and it was the landlord's policy.
My companion approached someone else and asked if his beer was OK and he said he couldn't drink his either so they grudgingly gave me a drink of something else but did not offer to replace his. He didn't seem to want to complain and I noticed he left half an hour later leaving most of the drink in his glass.

Not too bad. Good service 6.80 for 2 pint of Directors and 2 packs of peanuts. Beer was ok. Nothing special but you could do a lot worse round here.

Really enjoyed my visit - nice staff, good fire and a decent pint of Guinness

Good mixture of customers, great for a lunchtime drink.

Continuing my "Tour de East London", a few of us popped in here for pre-football drinks at the weekend. Having had generally bad experiences of pubs in East London I was pleasantly surprised here. The pub is just behind the hospital and as such is shielded somewhat from the noise and bustle of the main road. Inside, the bar and furnishings are well looked after with a good range of food and drink on offer. A couple of new HD TVs complete the picture. Seems popular with couples out for Sunday lunch / quiet drinks.

Top traditional local friendly boozer, highly recommended

Just been to this East End local and what a find! Was most impressed by the suave and sophisticated barman who was very knowledgable on his wines (and their correct pronunciation). Unfortunately, I hear he's leaving next week so girls get down there quick!!

A cool, friendly oub with a mixture of locals, medics, students and Bangladeshis. Decent food during the day and a good atmosphere at night.
