I don't live in Cambridge but I do visit this lovely city quite often. I usually pop into the Regent on most trips and have to say I quite like the pub. As is normally the case with JDW pubs, the Regent has a good choice of well kept real ales, and the food can be relied on to past muster at a reasonable price. I have been fortunate enough to avoid the chav brigade thank goodness. Pissed up pond life can spoil an otherwise pleasant experience. Best pub in Cambridge has to be the Flying Pig, though.

I recently went to this pub for a meal with friends around 5pm on a Friday and found that they had already run out of many meals on the menu. I find that quite poor. Also the bar service was very slow and I would prefer a better selection of diet drinks, rather than just diet coke. It would be lovely to have a place where I can relax with friends and have a drink even though I'm on a diet.

Paid a visit last week and the porkpie I ordered was awful with a hard crust and a strange colour I would not touch the food in future the beer was fair.

I try and void this pub as much as I can. It is usually full of chav's

In competition with the Regal across the road which is Wetherspoons largest venue but if you want a quiet drink away from the noisy tourists here is the place . Dog is allowed in the beer garden but not in the pub .
Dont expect too much in the way of real ales as its a normal GK outlet nothing fancy.

Average pub with painfully slow bar service.

Average pub. Greene King beers - Abbot, Speckled Hen & IPA. Clean and tidy. OK, but perhaps lacking in character.

A new food menu which has been introduced isn't particularly enticing, but has had the effect of filling the conservatory with noisy families and American tourists. Greene King should stick to what they do best: serving decent beer.

Handily placed between the station and town centre. A very average pub.

After moving to the area recently i have to dissagree with the comments below. A new manager has recently been appointed and positive changes have been made. There is now regular entertainment and the beer is cold! The vodka is smirnoff or absolut so the vodka isnt "rank", the beer garden is now split from the car-park by a raised decking area and there are now two toilet dispensers in every toliet cubicle so no more running out of bog-roll.All in all a pleasent, clean, friendly pub.Oh by the way the sunday lunch is tops!!

Normally OK but on my last visit there was no bog roll!! Useful stop on the walk from the train station to city centre, or on the way in for a night out if you live that side of town.

I'm mystified as to how this pub has scored well, it may not be the worst pub in Cambridge but must be close. However it's always packed on a Saturday evening so I guess it's just as well we don't all have the same taste isn't it? If you like warm lager, rank vodka and a beer garden in a car park, this is the place for you!
