Now called the Cambrian Tap, a sort of artisanal brewpub, though I think still a part of the Brain's empire. The bar man was an extremely good spokesman for his pub; he talked me into a pint of something which was jolly good but he yabbered so much that I forgot what it was. Subsequent customers had tastings & similar conversations, and like me seemed to enjoy the whole process. Worth a visit if you like beer & spiel.

The Cambrian (it's previous incarnation) was legendary. This is a pale shadow, over-priced and corny.

The toilets stink.

Good pint, and not bad - but slow to put back in seating after rugby match though, and toilets were dubious !

Traditional city boozer, now in its fourth alias, occupying a corner of St Mary Street and Caroline Street (aka Kebab Alley). Irish theme is minimal though piped yiddly-diddly music can wear you down a bit over a few hours. Run by a very nice Irish chap who keeps an excellent pint of Guinness.

Kebab central make it a bit icky outside, but the ale is great and the bar itself is clean and friendly

An excellent irish themed pub, bit rough round the edges, but all the better for it. Plus it is on the alleyway that has all the Cardiff chippys and kebabs so is handy after you stagger out.
