please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Visited today for lunch and few pints after a Sunday morning cycle into Kent with a bitter-drinking mate and moved to post my first review here for a few years.

The building looks a bit lonely on a hill next to Lidl, but turned out to be a great pub with three ales on draft, including Doom Bar and Harveys, and Cornish Pilsner, an excellent lager.

Three-course lunch for £14 is great value. There was only a handful of people in so we took it in turns to select records for the turntable in front of an open fire.

Friendly bar staff and punters. I wish this was my local.

Popped in for a pint yesterday. Nice enough pub and beer. If I lived locally I'd definitely visit regularly

Just had a fantastic quality meal at exceptional value. Coq au vin with spinach and celeriac mash for only £7.90. This lovely old pub has changed hands at least twice since the last reviews. It has been tastefully renovated and has both really friendly bar staff and customers. They sell Harveys beer and a few others.

The catering is provided by Parkers Kitchen and is really delicious. All the main courses are about £7.90. You really need to order by about 7:30 or let them know you are coming and order by 8pm. Food is available every night except Mon. The menu is limited but changes often.

There is a record player in the upper bar and a good collection of LPs. You can even bring your own. Later in the evening, the customers tend to leaf through the collection and play some old favourites. The younger ones have to be shown how to carefully lower the needle onto the record and select a specific track!

There is parking for about 4 cars in the car park at the rear but you can box cars in as the drivers will know where to find you. You can park in the Lidl car park next door during the evening but be warned that after 90 mins you automagically get a parking ticket.

Spread the word about this lovely pub and maybe they'll keep the kitchen open a little later.

I believe this pub is under new management, I found it to be very warm and welcoming. The kitchen has recently re-opened the food is excellent and you get very generous portions I will definitely go back.

Good god! If the beer quality is any kind of a signifier as to the hygiene standards at this establishment then I sincerely hope the kitchen has passed it's environmental health inspections!

This pub is under new management, it's a great friendly place with something for everyone - dart board, large flat-screen tv, juke box, fruity, fireplaces! The kitchen has just opened for lunch and serves a nice range of tasty home-cooked meals - including Sunday roasts. Def worth a visit - dog friendly too which is always a plus. Sounds like management has more improvements in the pipeline so one to watch.

Fairly basic Greene King roadside pub, and now the only place for a pint anywhere vaguely near Sevenoaks railway station (and even then, its a good few minutes walk away). Two smallish bars on different levels plus a couple of outdoor tables at the back. Unfortunately there was a power cut in the area when I visited today, leaving the handpumps (or, rather, handpump as only one was on) as the only working features. Not the best pint of IPA I've had, but it was certainly better than nothing in difficult circumstances.

I really like this pub - I feel it has a nice vibe. It's good for watching the football but I've never found it loud and full of over the top football supporters. It's never too busy on a Sunday which I prefer although maybe the owners don't! Two great strong ales on tap in the Speckled hen and Abbot Ale.
A more traditional pub with friendly people there and a nice layout.

what a great pub, no "chav" locals in here as this is sevenoaks and they dont reside in this town. good food, friendly locals, full of trophies from a very successful and friendly footie team known as "the mighty firehouse". always worth a drink on a saturday evening when the lads have just played. good darts teams. always a warm welcome, especially when the footballers wives have had a drink or 3 !! should be open 24/7 but cant see it happening myself. as for the quiz, you have to be in it to win it, so visit regularly rather than randomly and you might stand a chance
