Cracking pint of pride, best we have had for a while.
Shame there was no food as would have enjoyed a sandwich and probably stayed for another beer!

Seems quite a nice pub when you can find some customers in the place. What's happened, it's always empty.

Well done for ruining a pub that was getting interesting on a saturday night, particularly if the Outfit were playing. Now its like it used to be in the 80's but minus any people so not like it at all really, just empty.

No longer the place in Winchester for live music!
If your cool,hip or trendy look elsewhere!
There used to be some cracking bands here but these seemed to have dissapeared since new ownership.The place has gone downhill in terms of its involvement of the college and local community.
Ironically numerous, music related posters remain on the ceilings as a reminder of better days.

Eldridge Pope have carried out a great refurbishment. Pub has good selection of Real Ales; good quality air; pleasant service from the bar staff; plenty of varied seating areas. However its approach to FOOD is AWFUL and I would not recommend eating there - the food is overpriced, underwhelming, microwaved food which barely fills the plate. Six quid for fish and chips where the fish seems to have been won from the local carnival.

Significant improvements to the running of this place. Decent local live music on many nights. Still a bit of a booze barn, but mouthgard and stack-hat no longer required.

New management and refurb have turned this once dire pit into a nice pub. Good selection of food and drinks. Good live music on a saturday night and a fairly chilled out place all the time.
Worth a visit, especially if you remember the old guildhall - a bit of a difference!!!!

Although this isn't the classiest place in Winchester, it is perfectly serviceable pub. Big screen, Sky TV, and better than expected food.

Under new management and with a brand new food menu served all day. Lots of events coming up with live music starting next week and a weekly quiz with 100 quid cash prize
