The pub was busy when I was there but I hear that it is often quite quiet. Two or three real ales on offer, but rather expensive. I think they up the prices to keep the student numbers down. The pub is located just off Lloyd Street North near the Manchester Science Park.

Visited again recently. Got served this time, possibly because we followed the bar woman into the pub! Very quiet on a early, wet Friday afternoon, outside term time.

This pub could be really good, but it was a bit of a disapointment for me. Only two real ales on, neither of them inspiring. Not very welcoming - it seemed a bit clique-y.It took me three visits to get a drink here! First time it was closed for no apparent reason and second time there seemed to be no bar staff. After waiting about five minutes, I gave up and left! Oh well, as I work nearby, I'll give it the benefit of the doubt and give it another go sometime.

Lovely, comfortable old-fashioned pub! Bit pricey, but some good real-ales. Near the Uni, but a bit out-of town.

Well, my previous comment seems to have been removed. No idea why.
The place has completely lost its character from the old days and, given that it's a tied house of the ghastly Burtonwood brewery, there's nothing drinkable on the bitter front. The old clientle has sadly disappeared to be replaced by the unspeakable AQA crowd.
What a comedown.

This is my favourite pub in Manchester. Laid back atmosphere, a superbly kept pint and decent punters. It's a tad pricey admittedly, but certainly worth paying a bit over the odds for a good pint in a chilled out atmosphere. Hihgly recommended, especially when the sun's out.

Rumoured? to be closing soon.Would be a shame, although this place has gone downhill since they stopped serving Decent Food.

A once great pub sadly ruined by obnoxious licensee.

Great pub, good looking and comfortable inside, nice welcome, good atmosphere, no d***heads! Want a good, tasty pint without getting hassled? come here, a true hidden gem. Bit tricky to find if you don't know the area, but well worth it when you do find it - don't give up!
