Hey folks just thought I'd give you my yearly update haha, Solstice is still as good as ever, rocking place, great tunes, great women :) and great beer, it seems to have really done well througout the recession whereas other places have closed down. There is a new bar opened recently across from Solstice which has lots of trouble, lets bad people in and is expensive so i cant see that bar lasting long. Well all the best my beer swilling champions. Over and out till next time cheers Sugardaddy

Hiya People of Peterborough, I'm part of the nice ladies of peterborough which do like to enjoy ourselves responsibily with a few drinks without making a fool of myself. The Solstice is a really safe, fun and female friendly place. Some pubs/bars are not safe in Peterborough like L*****'* bar. I really enjoy going out with my girlfriends and the solstice is really friendly in there and love having a few drinks in a fun, safe place. Peterborough is getting better eventually, hope to speak soon Love Teresa XXX

Had a great night there last saturday, beer was great, great door staff and there was lovely women everywhere. The music was really rocking and basically had a quality night. Highly reccommended makes a change to have a good night in peterborough. Things are changing and nightlife is improving in Boro eventually yee ha.........

Great drop of London pride :-), my last visit I was too pissed to notice the staff but they were on the ball

Top rating this place. Loads of big screens for watching football and cricket, usually busy for both. Good beer's not a massive choice and if i was being picky usually served a little cold.

Really high quality food, with a regularly updated menu. The quality of the staff has reduced since I first start drinking there four years ago.

Good placement in the city centre very close to my office for extended Brian Clough style lunches.

Ron Burgundy........from the news team?!? Or maybe, just maybe someone that works at the solstice that is trying so desperatly hard to save the face of the place? It reads more like an advert by someone pretending to be a happy customer.

The staff seem to have taken a nosedive in the last 6 months, last time i went in i was faced with a big hooped earing, chewing gum sweaty barmaid (who had to stop reading the paper to come a serve me!)gone are the days of the big hairy guy to pull you a pint, or the goodlooking chicks with the smiles!!

This place still does the trick on a friday night with good music and an educated crowd, saturday nights are good for the music but the crowd tends to be a bit old/rough after 10pm. The food is standard pub grub and plenty of it. All round good pub but seems to be slipping away to a bad crowd again.

Ive been out and about on the Peterborough Scene for many a year now and the Solstice Public House is still one of the pubs/Bars in Peterborough with its finger on the Pulse, knowing what people want when on a night out.
Last weekend I popped in a busy Saturday night to be welcomed by the funky beats of Djs Budsy and Soape - the bar was well stocked up and presented as it usually is and Staff were aplenty and polite.

The following morning I came into the bar with a few of my lady partners and had a lovely roast, which was washed down with a dose of premiership football (which was shown on non other than 4 plasma screens and a huge projector screen) and a few glasses quality real ale.

The Solstice Pub is still by far the place to watch Sporting Events in Peterborough and makes for a great night out any day of the week.

Although I was informed it was under new management - business seems to be thriving which could only help cement Peterboroughs reputation for being a City few of great venues - Although in my opinion this is by far the best.

I have been drinking in the solstice for the last five years every weekend, we are part of a large group of rugby players and hockey players, we love the solstice, their beer always taste good and nicely chilled, the bar staff are great (and fit) and is a great place to take your wife or girlfriend for a drink during the week, this guy fenlander is really strange and havent seen any trouble for years in there and never that sort of trouble. Maybe FENLANDER should stop living with his aunty and stop buying DIRTY MACK BRIGADE WEEKLY MAGAZINE and enjoy the freedom of the solstice for a change instead of moaning, hope to see you soon fenander for a nice pint of London pride, cheers SUGAR DADDY!!!!!!!!!

Sorry God.

I don't work for another local pub and my mother's been dead for 9 years.

My review was reflecting my thoughts on the pub which I regard as no better than many other modern run of the mill pubs that Peterborough is well supplied with.

The food isn't too bad there and there's plenty of it but the christmas meal I had there was very ordinary.

Yeh well the above two comments are utter crap and lies, obviously staff from surrounding bars with no trade, so they try to off put their customers. The lines are by far the cleanest of any in the city, there are no stabbings and the staff are very well trained, as for the girl giving felatio on the dance floor? maybe fenlander shouldn't let his mum go in there anymore??? Oh and we have never sold IPA!!

A youngsters Pub in the evenings, I went one evening in 2005 and witnessed a young girl preforming Felatio on her boyfriend on the dance floor, makes a change to Karoke ! But full marks to the management with 2 Hand Pumps, offering an alternative to Stella and Fosters. Nice drop of London Pride or IPA :-)
