Beautiful inside, great for a quiet drink but quite expensive.

quiet pub, excellent for reading the paper. A door up the stairs leads into the theatre - but is locked out of use. Can get cold - a policy of permantly having the door open until 4.30!

This pub has a good atmosphere with lots of theatre memorabilia on the walls. Nice old fashioned Victorian decor with lots of brass and wood. Big windows at the front so you can watch the World go by. A bit pricey, but worth it. The sort of pub you can take your girl to, or have a pint with the friends and not have the usual Saturday night bussle, although it does get fairly busy at times.

Not a theatre goer my self but I do love this place when it's quiet. You just have to see it. It's either your idea of what a Victorian bar looked like or it's a plastic copy. I think they got it about as good as you can.

Nice place to go before theatre or concert, a bit pricey but good atmosphere and cleanliness. What else do you expect from a Dave Day pub.

Discovered this pub during pre-theatre drinks (the entrance is in the middle of the Theatre Royal), but would be worth going back in a non-luvvie moment. Obvious theatrical theme is well done with old posters mingling with those from current productions, and plenty of Victorian brass and mirrors. Was drinking at the bar when the barman leant across, nicked my pint and topped it up - 'I short measured you first time round' - which was a nice touch as I hadn't even noticed! Even pre-theatre there was a nice mix of dressed-up theatre crowd and locals - will certainly add to my list of Brighton boozers.

Really lovely little bar. It is a separate pub, within the Theatre Royal, but you enter from the street. They do interval drinks so it gets very crowded just be fore performances and at the interval, but the rest of the time it is a relaxing, sociable place. Wonderful unspoiled brasswork, mirrors etc complement the theatrical decor
