I am possibly this Pub's nearest neighbour and have been for three years. It is probably the most trouble-free pub I have ever seen. The stagger there, via the paper shop on a Sunday lunchtime for a roast dinner, is well worth the effort. On the whole it's quite studenty, but not in an obnoxious way. I use it to pop into after a walk with my dogs, sink a quick pint and go home. The atmosphere is utterly non-threatening. The decor and music are good. The staff are all about nine. It's completely adequate.

Excellent pub with a really funny mix of students, locals of varying ages and incredibly cool people like me.
Only joking, love this pub though, good prices, Harveys is excellent, food on a Sunday is first class and staff are always friendly.

WE JUST MOVED ROUND THE CORNER TO THIS PUB AND HAVE HAD SOME REALLY GOOD NIGHTS ALREADY. LAST SATURDAY WE WENT FOR A QUICK BEER BUT THERE WAS A REALLY GOOD DJ AND CHEAP BEER WITH MY STUDENT CARD SO WE STAYED TILL THEY KICKED US OUT ABOUT HALF PAST ONE!!

I've been in this pub a few times but only midweek.
The pub has got a nice feel to it, a range of customers and although it's got a pool table there wasnt any sense of trouble!
I like this pub

A nice old traditional street corner pub, which is strangely lit up by candles. A nice pint, but not the best of attitudes behind the bar. Good quiz on a Sunday.

could be a good pub, but they let chavs in. Barman almost started a fight with a mate of mine when he complained that his drink was flat, cue harsh stairs from the locals all night

A locals' pub, and young locals at that. Sundays are OK, with roast dinners and a quiz night. For the rest of the week it's OK for a quick drink, but nothing more. I don't want to knock it, but if this pub just tried to broaden its appeal slightly it could be so much better.
