Just been to Bournemouth where I paid (another) visit to this establisment. Tried Wadsworths Bishops Tipple (very good) and when that ran out I reverted to Old Speckle Hen which was spot on. Also had a meal in there and that was great as well. Can get a bit crowded when thaere is a goof footie game on telly but don't let that put you off as you do not wait to long to be served - even on the busy days

Old Speckled Hen has replaced Ringwood Best as the resident real ale so an improvement there although it still tends to be kept too cold.
Fascinating range of sporting memorabilia and plenty of screens so you can watch the game from wherever you're sat in the pub.
Haven't seen any trouble personally, it just seems like a solid working mans pub.
As the fat beer badger says it's only 2.00 a pint during the day so gets an extra point for that alone. Haven't tried the food so can't comment on it.
Staff always seem to be attentive and efficent.

2.00 A Pint On All Draught Most Days, Always A Pleasure! 7/10

Had a great evening in this bar a few nights ago whilst watching England v USA. Only real ale on was Ringwoods Best Bitter so not much choice unless you are a lager drinker. Although it was packed there was no problem with any of the punters.

This place seemed ok until an almighty riot broke out, which appeared to include most of the staff aswell. Quite ironic that there's pictures of boxers, and boxing gloves on the walls!

The Shamrock is an appendage of he Tralee Hotel, and is run by hotel employees. I have sampled real ale here, although at the time of my last visit the was only keg and lager. It is one of the better pubs in Bournemouth.

Yes, I'd say this is probably the best place to watch football in Bournemouth (just ahead of Walkabout on the other side of town). Convenient if you're staying in any of the hotels on the West Cliff.

We used to go in this pub years ago when it was pretty quite with not alot going on. Over the last few years however it has undergone a transformation with plasma tv's everywhere and loads of football memerobilia. It is a great place to watch sport but can get really busy during big games. There's a nice little drinking area out the front for sunny days and always a great atmosphere inside, the bar is also open till 12 now i believe. The only downside i would say is the lack of really decent staff, they're all friendly enough but not quite the characters that used to work in there.
