Convenient for the back entrance of Bath Spa station. We visited on Thursday to find Bass, Landlord, Otter Bitter and Doombar on offer. The Otter was so excellent we had to have another! 3.10. Worth a visit but not an extended stay.

A traditional local pub situated in the Widcome area of Bath just a couple of minutes walk away from the railway station. Its a decent sized, L-shape pub with a predominance of wood the floors were reclaimed boards, there was some wood cladding on the walls, the bar was wood panelled, there were wooden church pews to sit on or chunky wood tables and chairs; a bit monotonous, but pleasant enough.
To break thinks up a bit, there was some tiling on the floor at the rear, and much of the wall was exposed stone, including some bath stone at the front. A plasma screen sat up in one corner, although this was not in use on a recent visit. It looked as though there was also a projector screen that could be lowered when required. There appeared to be a patio area at the back, although we did not check this out, and there were a couple of small tables on the pavement at the front. A few drawings of the nearby river were on the walls, along with some interesting old carved wooden company adverts for businesses such as solicitors, photographer, fishmonger, etc.
Beers on tap were Doom Bar, Otter Ale and Bass. Ciders were Thatchers Gold and Traditional, plus Blackthorn.

First visit for 8 months - same old Ram with the same old faces. Local pub for local people - in a nice way!
|
Nice pub with Bellringer and Thatchers scumpy. Gets busy when the rugby is on TV.

It used to be a bit of a favourite for me but last time I went in the beer wasn't as well looked after as it used to be. Not that it isn't still very good but the Bass lacked a bit of flavour and the Otter seemed slightly bland...
Still a very good pub though and in any other town it would be one of the best but we are a bit spoilt in Bath for pubs who really look after their beer.

I popped in during an early evening and it was pleasant enough; near the station but the opposite side of the tracks to the town centre so mostly local clientele.
Landlord and regulars were friendly enough and beer was decent quality.

A convenient pub for the railway station, I often enjoy a visit to the Ram on the way home. Friendly landlord and manager. Good range of ales and proper cider available. It can get busy with people watching sport on the many television screens, and I sometimes find the main bar area gets rather smoky. Overall, highly recommended.

Seemingly odd pub, but always nice and friendly and good beer. Good place to watch footy as it's slightly out of town and has a huge screen
