Now closed. Typical story - owned by a pub company who never allowed it to become successful. It's going to be replaced with a supermarket which will be devastating for the nearby shops.

Huge estate pub in Marshalswick. The pub was quite smartly refurbished. However, when we left at 9.45 pm on a Saturday night there were only two people left. It had the ambience of a morgue. I can't quite put my finger on what they were doing wrong, although my Doom Bar - which was the only real ale on offer - was pretty rank. All in all a bit depressing - although the garage next door does have cheap petrol.

For an area where some houses approach 1m you would expect a better than average pub. Visited last Saturday and It's not! It's the sort of pub you expect in nearby Hatfield town centre. That name escapes me, as using WiFi in Scottish borders after leaving WGC after tea. Night porter offering a selection of malts so no more beer tonight!

youngs ordinary looked good but unfortunately had an unpleasant aftertaste..clean pipes may remedy this!!!!

OK this one I think, for an estate pub, clean and friendly unlike some in the St Albans area.

Typacal estate pub with so-so beer (the bland Bombadier and Youngs Bitter).Probably more appealing to lager drinkers. Friendly enough though.

New landlady such a nightmare! Never seen her behing the bar, leaves it all down to her staff. Food NOT great, just ok. Not really the community pub they say it is

Large, friendly pub, very much the centre of the community. Good food menu, and not even I could complain about paying 1.75 for an excellent pint of Tetleys. SkySports on the telly, but this is placed at one end of the pub, so isn't intrusive. Good value all round.
