Queens Head, Sandridgeback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Lovely building. Locals mostly igore you. The bloke behind the bar on Saturday night was the second rudest bartender I ever came across. Service with a sneer. Was going to try the Sunday lunch with a group of friends next day.but after that attitude they can keep it. Could not wait to escape after my bloke had a single pint. Won't visit again.

annoyingly says no kids allowed by law, other pubs allow kids under the same law , like the Elephant and castle where we ended up for sunday dinner. If you don't want kids just be honest don't hide behind license laws that no one else adheres to, also don't offer the garden when its pissing down with rain. nobody was eating , and about ten blokes in there , quite loud , making it feel like a clique pub , but then what do I know from one recent visit!

Lovely, traditional pub located in a tear-jerkingly beautiful setting next to an old church. The town is well-served by public houses but this is the best of the bunch. An impressive menu is complemented by a good selection of well-cared for ales. Add that to a couple of stunning bar maids and in my book that is the complete package.
Highly recommended.

Lovely looking pub in a nice setting near the church. Would be nice inside if it wasn't for the rowdy, swearing locals and huge TV screens. Unimaginative choice of beer (Youngs, Adnams, London Pride) at a pricey 3.30 per pint. Could be so much better.

Nice low-ceilinged country pub in a pleasant setting beside the church. Small front bar that I suspect is used mainly by drinkers with the rest of the pub geared up for food. Called in on a weekday lunchtime and it seemed very popular with locals dining and there was a good buzz about the place. There is a small hard-standing patio area outside with views of the church. Four hand pumps, Pride, Deuchars, Landlord and Tribute on my visit, 3.10 a pint.

The interior is a bit gloomy, but the service is good and so are the drinks and food.

Blimey missus! My Londoner's accent completely stumped the barlady, and I had to repeat myself several times. I checked the map, and Sandridge is only 20 miles or so from London, but I was made to feel a bit of an alien. Shame, really, because it's not a bad pub. There were 4 beers to choose from, and the quality was OK if not brilliant. I actually think this place has got the potential to beat the 2 neighbouring pubs, but, but.... Also it's handy to have the bus stop almost outside the door, but the 1833 bus didn't turn up until approx 1855, by which time I had given up and walked a good half mile towards St Albans. Doh!!!!!

Visited once. Beer was ok, but felt unwelcome as a stranger in a pub populated by locals. Won't be returning.

Closed on Saturday afternoon (yesterday)! What's going on???

A fine pub, sadly overshadowed by the quality of their beer. Unfortunately, it would appear that the landlord, being a lager drinker, has no idea of how to keep a real ale in the consistency one has become accustomed to elsewhere. 10/10 for the pub, 2/10 for the ales.

A fine old pub, in the shadow of the church. 3 beers and a separate dining area.
