Bar billiards....on speed?
Quaint, built on a slant. Has always been a great venue for bar billiards.
Heard the latest manager has been asked to leave. Not surprised at all they have turned the pub into a drug den.
Dreadful atmosphere in this pub. Will never go there again under the current management. No different to the old Spread Eagle now - what a shame!!!
I hear the manager is leaving, iwonder if anyone will notice i only saw her once and i am a regular. Still a great pub though
popped in the albion the other night, what a difference the place was clean, beer was good, and a friendly face behind the bar, i will be going back.
Alan has gone. Perhaps the pub will now get back to the decent pub it used to be!!!
I was in there last night and had a well kept pint of Castle Rock Hemlock. I hadn't been in there for years but Mick still remembered me - he is a real asset to the pub!
The landlord has brought a good quality pub into disrepute and destroyed the community feel, and really would be better suited as a bingo caller! Without the micraphone! Apparently he was a dustbin man before he got into the pub game which explains the shit he constantly carries around!!!
Bring back the spread!!!

No mick behind the bar - just miserable alan (not that he's ever actually behind it) - wise words from your friend
Sadly now a Punch Tavern. Another real pub bites the dust. Visited last Saturday lunchtime. Advised by mate not to bother before I got there. Thought about crying!!!!!
Is Mick still behind the bar? Along with the Bugle, this is one of the best proper pubs in this area. Will be visiting again for my annual pilgrimage from out in the sticks.

One of my favorites in this part of town, older age group but friendly and a barman that remembers your drink weeks later. Just a nice old Brighton local.
Definitely the best pub in this part of B'ton, although the competition is not what you would call formidable. Beers are OK and the service is friendly and efficient. But I didn't like having to walk through the darts area to get to the Gents!

Corner pub situated on the next road parallel to Southover Street and only a short walk from the Greys, but rather more of a down-to earth locals place than the establishments of the Hanover area. It draws much of its working-class clientele from the nearby flats and high-rises. The drinking area is around a central bar, with a dartboard and bar billiards table to the right. Old photos of Brighton decorate the walls. Greene King Abbot Ale and IPA are on sale; but I came here for the guest ale from Weltons, which today is Bonking Bunnies (with it being spring and all that). The Albion was GBG listed from 1987 to 1996 and, as long as the guest ale remains available, is still worth a visit.
