De Ja Vue! It seems that bad attitude to customers combined with poor service and small portions comes around, and around, and around. Arrived at 7:45pm on Saturday 31st Jan 2009. Told a 20 minute wait for food. Tried to order from the set menu and specials board to be told half the menu no longer available and then 45 minutes for 2 meals to arrive. The stew that had been on the menu for all of January clearly had been. There was so little meat left, and it had fallen apart, that I ended up with a carrot and potato soup with a dumpling. The manner in which my complaint was handled was appalling. And than as a previous reviewer, was asked to leave in a very loud voice and please don't come back. My wife is a professional chef at a Rosette quality restaurant. When she attempted to be constructive and point out the problem, she was ignored and treated with total derision. In today's economic climate I really hope this place disappears where the sun don't shine. In the clouds of contempt they clearly have for their paying guests.

The Three Horseshoes has been taken over by new management. The restaurant has been re-decorated and the ambience is great. I felt like I was in a very up market London restaurant. Food was great and great to be supporting local produce.
I stayed overnight in one of the new re-designed rooms it was luxury personfied - I was absolutely astounded at the transformation as had stayed previously when it resembled a travel lodge room - luxurious cushions and all those added extras made my stay much more relaxing and enjoyable. I would definately recommend the Three Horseshoes to anyone wanting a tranquil weekend in the heart of the english countryside with luxury, good food, comfortable beds and good ale.

Location and decor is really good and the beer had a good choice but the restaurant is really let down by an unimagative menu poorly supported by dreadfully slow service. Food was good when it arrived, don't ask for any salt, mustard, etc. though as it will take an age to arrive. Overall OK but nothing to write home about, shame it could be so much better.

Don't order the steak unless you have already eaten somewher else - We normally eat at the pub with friends and family but we will no longer go or recommend it to our friends. We ordered a fillet steak and when it came it was the smallest steak I have ever seen, probably the right size for a very small child. We complained and the Barman said that it had shrunk when it was cooked and would not replace it. We ate, paid and left and they will not see us again, there are plenty of other pub restaurants around!!

Having had several lovely meals at this delightful country pub with friends and business colleagues, I went with wife and family to celebrate our wedding anniversary last month. Very poor quality food, served slowly in an empty pub. After asking for my meal to be removed and taken from the bill, I had to suffer an argument (in front of my family) with the chef about the difference in 21 day hung meat and normal steak no mention of the bullet chips, the raw tomato garnish and the soaked droopy mushroom Cutting a long story short, I was asked to leave the pub as I was no longer welcome, pay for the drinks and get out Well mine host seems to have his name over the door the chef is one of the landlords! In an environment where Village Pubs need all the custom they can get perhaps a customers justifiable complaint could have been handled better. Perhaps it was just an off day? The beer is allways very good here. Hence a rating of 2. Customer service by the landlord gets a zero.

Just been in for a leaving lunch. Gorgeous afternoon, lots of people sitting outside, cool and comfortable inside. Lunchtime restaurant menu shows good variety, can be tailored for specific parties if required. Five real ales on offer from Adnams to Oakham ales, all well kept. Just tried a Dizzy Blonde, most excellent. Staff always friendly and the place is surprisingly popular for being in such a small picturesque village.

This is an excellent pub. Had a brilliant Christmas eve in here necking delicious Oakham ales and even winning a bottle of whisky in the raffle. Long may it survive and prosper. Keep up the cracking selection of local cask ales, guys.

Visited on Saturday 29th April for a meal in the evening, very very impressed with all aspects of this country pub. Pleasant staff, lovely setting and the old part of the pub perfectley compliments the new and very classy restaurant and bar areas. All in all a very enjoyable night out - highly recommended if you like good food and some good real ales.

Visited for lunch last week, looks new from the outside, but has old roots. Believe the original pub on the site has been extended and 'new' pub is pretty funky. A La Carte restaurant is seperate from bar. At least 4 real ales (Adnams B'side, Best and 2x Local brews). Bar meals menu may appear limited, but it's worthwhile. We tried the ciabatta sandwhiches which were fab and good value. An all round great experience. A busy little country pub that is trying top keep a small village local alive. Looking forwards to our Xmas dinner there all ready!
