please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Unlike many of the local pubs that were closed on the Sunday between Christmas and New Year, this one was open and doing a roaring trade, despite charging extortionate prices. I had to resort to a soft drink, as I was driving. But £2.50 for an apple juice is almost London prices. Groups were enjoying Sunday lunch. Others were watching live football. Ales were Timothy Taylor Landlord & Leatherbritches Santa's Little Helper & Bad Santa. Moved on from here to the Cross Keys in Newbold, the excellent Black Lion in Blackfordby and the Tap at No. 76 (also excellent) in Ashby de la Zouch. I'll request the latter two be added to the site.

Pete and team have had to really pull the stops out in order to overcome the bad reputation the George & Dragon had earned under its previous management and I think that they have exceeded themselves! The service and food are very good and Pete will put himself out to ensure that you leave happy, nothing is too much trouble.

Great food, lovely people, good selection of beers, and great atmosphere. What else would you want in a venue for a meal out or just a drink? In the summer, the lawned area is fantastic to sit out in, they do regular BBQs, and all year round they have entertainment nights. Great place.

This pub was recently took over by villagers Steve, Pete, Ann & Margaret, and so far they're doing a wonderful job.
If you like a friendly pub that serves excellent food & drink The George & Dragon is the place to go.
The meat on the menu comes from nearby Spring Barrow Lodge Farm, and is very, very tasty (to say the least)!
On Sunday evenings they have 'well above average' entertainment acts performing - Give them a call to see who's on this week!
And if you're petrolhead's like us...........you'll be pleased to hear that the pub has a nice large car park with absolutely no craters!

4 went for meal tonight with grandson. Waited ages for meals, one didn't arrive with others. When it did it wasn't what was ordered. The worst dining experience we have had in years.
Won't be visiting again.

Real ale and quality cuisine under one roof - quite exceptional. Friendly and relaxed, not yer normal "pub grub".

A fanatastic old building-400 years old which serves fabulaous food. The speciality is a Thursday night which is Seafood Night.
