i went to a friends wedding reception in the function room above pub and iwas pleasently suprised ,pub looks ordinary outside, but inside very airy and brightdecor toilets kept sparkling all day food and service the best proper ham and fresh salmon i can see why my pal had reception here.no need to call taxi to go home here like my local manager calls all cabs for you to make sure you get home safely.and also at the end of the night staff not allowed to shout you out or rush you drinks like most other pubs.very thoughtful and civilised.not like other bars in highgate im told.this is the way to run a proper bar.i wish it was my local.midas

stumbled here by chance after a walk on the heath, apparently the ale was "disconncected" and unavailable - fri eve and empty, with that attitude i'm not suprised

One of those places that you only seem to end up in at the end of the night when everywhere else is shut or refusing to serve you....... Strange atmosphere, not dissimilar to drinking in a church hall, and the wine is awful

If you want a literal downhill pub crawl start in the Village, stop off at the Old Crown before working your way to all the dives in Archway & Holloway.

Despite having a late-liscence is nearly always empty of a Saturday night, perhaps becuase its perched halfway up a hill between archway and highgate............quite odd.........as a result staff are so surprised when anyone walks through the door they stare at you and forget how to pour pints.......

i had a great night in the crown.what an atmosphere with live music and jugs of lager that were great value.sunday lunch is the best around highgate will definately be going back.didnt see any dog.

I went there once and it was a Saturday night. There were three staff at the bar, twiddling their thumbs. Not a soul in there. At 10pm on a Saturday night... strange.
