Luckwell Hotel, Ashtonback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Visited on a CAMRA wander in July and was extremely impressed, thev only ale on was Courage Best BUT it was the best pint of Courage i have quaffed in any pub in Bristol recently. The bar staff were welcoming and friendly, so much that we stayed for a couple. The pub was nicely busy too for a saturday lunchtime with various card games being played amongst the regulars, 7/10

My regular for matchdays for the last few seasons. I have tried most others in the area and in my opinion the Luckwell is the best for a pre match pint/s. Good rolls on sale which have often saved my guts from the large quantity of Blackthorn which go down a treat. Not too rough, so small amounts of away fans would be ok. Staff are friendly and quick. Not the pub for the fine ale drinker, or fine cider drinker to be honest. Large TV screen, ideal for footy.

The Luckwell Hotel re-opened in May 2005 after a massive refit. They have completely transformed the old place & the new management have made it a fun & lively place to visit. Best Bass in Bristol, London Pride & guest ales. A real locals venue with mixed crowd, 2 dart boards & pool table. SKY tv a real bonus as so many pubs have stopped it. No food yet, but understand it's "on the menu". suggest a visit.

I have lived in the area for years but only recentley visited the luckwell, i can now say that this pub will become my 1st choice bar in bedminster, the staff are wonderfull the prices cheap, and the atmosphere is extremely friendly and welcoming, it has a free jukebox, and sky television. i would recommend this pub to anyone.
