This pub was listed in the Warwickshire Food & Drink Guide and while driving nearby on Boxing Day we decided to drop in for some lunch. A special menu was being offered for the day and they were fully booked, but as we had arrived rather early we were kindly offered a table and the choice of the set menu or the roast.
We chose the roast and the meal was absolutely divine with roast beef that melted in your mouth, crisp and tasty vegetables and scrumptious roast potatoes. The service was friendly and pleasant, the cost reasonable and the decor snug and cosy. We were most impressed.

We tried this pub in mid December 2010 and were very glad we did. The new landlord was very welcoming and showed us all the new fixtures and fittings that he and his wife had changed since their recent takeover. The warm pleasant atmosphere made it well worth the trip from Rugby. I sampled the bitter which was a good pint served by an attractive wench with a smile. I also had the Linguine which was freshly cooked and left my mouth tingling with the chilli peppers. My partner had her Linguine toned down as we were pre-warned it was a bit hot ! All in all we couldn't fault the place and will be spending New Years Eve there as they will be putting on a sit down meal and firework display for those with tickets. I'm led to believe the doors will be locked once we're all inside so should be a great evening !

Went on a weekday lunchtime in mid September - very quiet but the extrovert landlord was very welcoming. Premises noticeably clean and tidy and food well presented and properly cooked. Portions not large but competitively priced; surprisingly the sweets were more expensive than the main courses.Decor and furnishings plain and appropriate for age of this Inn; a change from the Solihull pretentiousness I have become accustomed to!

We have visited this pub on a number of occasions. Great welcome, and great food.

a few people had said the latest owners were serving good food, so we thought we would enjoy it. First impressions, friendly welcome. First course, whitebait, was good. the main courses were very disappointing. fish was like a processed log shaped piece. the chunky chips we thought were oven chips . The veg lasagne was not very nice, although the salad was excellent. the waitress was pleasant but for hygeine reasons should really tie her hair back as it was dangling over the food To cap it all, i think we were overcharged but as we did not get a breakdown of the total, I cannot be sure will not go again!!
