Been back to this pub since last review and it just gets better. Most relaxing place you could wish to visit. 6 ales on, tried 3 (can't remember all the names) and they were all perfect. Wife nd children had some fantastic meals and never rushed and all felt welcome and comfortable. newspapers around to read after the meal whilst the children played chess. Superb! the place to go if you are in the area!

nice place - clean and tidy - 3 cask conditioned ales on whe n we visited and all 3 were top quality.
No food on which was disappointing for 2.30pm
Nice sun trap of a beer garden with plenty of seating and were okay about the children being there
All round a good place and certainly we will go back to when we return to the area

Fantastic thatched pub set back off the main drag, 6 hand pulled ales including when i was there Leeds Brewery gold, the landlady pulled a whole pint off and poured it away before serving me, a very impressive example of customer service. Nice log fire, newspapers, friendly locals and a great atmosphere well worth a visit.

Still the best pub in town and probably the district with excellent range of real ales. Just what a proper boozer should be like!

This place really is a gem in the heart of Wiltshire!! I live away from Bassett now but I make sure this is the place I come back to first (sorry Mum and Dad) fantastic beers, lovely locals and a Landlord and Landlady that are second to none I hope this place never dies!!!

Best pub I have frequented and a real jewel in Wootton Bassett's crown. Great real ale with Black Sheep the house best bitter with two guest beers on tap.

Great atmosphere with a good log fire and a welcoming crowd.

this is my favourite pub ever !!!! great atmosphere - fantastic range of beers - can well recommend Cotswold Boy but is is not on very often - wish they would stock more of it ! Food available at lunchtimes and wednesday eve only - the homemade Scotch Egg is worth a try - well worth searching out : )

This pub is as good as ever, and Paul Wright's comments still hold true. Add to all the previous: real log fire, Westons scrumpy cider from the wood and old fashioned opening times.

A small, friendly pub, located off the High Street, Wootton Bassett.

London Pride and Youngs Bitter on as standard plus 3 guest beers.

Addlestons and Stowford Press ciders.

Enter as a stranger, leave as a friend.

Lovely little pub with a great outside area. Menu looks fab with different themed nights. They do a great Pimms too. Thankfully didn't meet Dolly!!

I lived in WB back in 1998 which is when (I think) the current landlord & landlady took it over. At least I think that it must still be them there looking at the comments posted.

It is a fabulous pub! A real locals pub, yet it doesn't reject newbies and passer bys!

Wonderful food using local produce and ideas from around the world.

I remember it being dog friendly - this may have changed though! I've fond memories of Dolly the bulldog (is she still resident?).

I miss though WB days! Make sure you hunt this place out!

Simply the best pub in the world. The ciders are the best kept, I have ever tasted, with a great variety
The landlord and landlady are very friendly.
The atmosphere is both electric and eclectic.
The food is tasteful and exciting.
It has a cosmopolitan clientele.
After thirty-five years of drinking, I have found the perfect watering hole.

Pubs just don't get much better than this.

No jukebox, but plenty of music from Dean Martin, Chas and Dave (by request I must add!) on a Sunday evening to your more traditional fayre during the week.

Real ales rotated from week to week and an annual beer fest during the summer. Huge selection of wines, lagers and bottle beer for the non-real ale drinkers amongst you and a roaring fire for you to sup in front of!

Covered patio garden.......heaters and blankets supplied during the colder months!

The food is all made fresh on the day from local produce and Wednesday evening is themed night - from South African through to Italian!

Landlady and landlord are youthful and energetic and are very much involved with the local community.......have won 'best float' in the Bassett Carnival two years in a row!

In short a great place to sit, drink, eat and enjoy a wonderful welcome................or two!
