FANTASTIC! We recently had the chance to stay at the Burlton Inn for a few days and were thoroughly impressed. My husband asked the head chef and owner Paul to show off and he completely wowed us with one of the best meals weve ever had. The flavor combinations he used in his sauces to complement each dish were not only tasty but innovative as well. The tastes were perfectly proportioned with no particular flavor overwhelming another, just a brilliant mix of everything he used to make it delicious. The pork loins were perfectly done, moist and succulent, and I have never had a medium-rare steak that melt-in-your-mouth delicious before and we eat a lot of steak. The service was friendly, and we never felt rushed at all during our meal . As well the wine selection recommended by owner Lindsay was so well suited to our meal I wrote down the name of it to try and find back home. The atmosphere of the pub was very welcoming, and relaxing, and the outside patio quite nice when we were lucky enough to have sunny weather. The proprietors Paul and Lindsay have created a really inviting and relaxing locale. The room we stayed in was lovely, clean, and quite well located just behind the pub easy enough to stagger to bed after a good night, yet far enough away that you can sleep soundly if you retire early. Overall, a place that I would highly recommend, especially for the food. Yes, go for the food!

Had a wonderful Sunday lunch at The Burlton Inn. Service was pretty good considering only two waiting on and one of those in training! Very friendly staff and just managed to finish three courses of excellent food, including a superb roast rib of beef ! We would make it a regular visit if if wasn't 60 miles away! Highly recommend a visit.

I have been to the Burlton Inn several times since it changed hands and would highly recommend it. The food on the new bar menu is excellent and great value for money; I had a superb steak and Guinness pie on my last visit whilst the chef happily accommodated my vegetarian girlfriend who had a delicious basil risotto and a warm butter bean salad. The house red is also good, and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is warm with friendly staff; the patio/garden area is covered with beautiful hanging baskets, so a very nice place to sit on summer evenings, whilst the log fires, wooden beams and stone walls make the interior cosy and inviting on colder nights. The Burlton Inn seems to have returned to form.

went on recommendation last saturday evening and hadn't been since the new owers had taken over. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of food. My husband commented it was the best fillet steak he had ever had! Will be going back very soon. Only comment would be for more variety of coffee.

Since the Pub has recently changed hands to who i believe is a younger couple, the atmosphere has gone down hill as the lighting is very bright showing cob webbs which is not acceptable in my opinion. The food is satisfactory although it is still the same chef there?, menu is very limited and ridiculous pricing on both beverages and food and you have to pay approx 3 for vegetables which were once included in a great meal with larger portioning that would have been produced 4 months ago. The service was average and you dont feel as welcome as you once did. Hopefully they will learn from the mistakes they are making and turn it back into the welcoming, great food place it once used to be.

a vibrant new couple lyndsey & paul have just taken over this once great pub sadly it still has robinsons awful beer but in just a couple of weeks there has been a marked improvment to the quality of the guinness ,carling & stella & the food is on the up & up with luck the burlton will be the top place to visit just like it used to be please call & give it a try.

This pub used to great - good beer, really good food. Unfortunately it appears to have been taken over by a family from Manchester (I too am from that great city). The landlord swore like a trooper when he cocked up the PDQ machine doing my card, and his dreadful daughter and her husband sat at the bar quaffing lager and white wine and cackling sporadically all bloody night whilst their little kid with a shaved head and possibly an earing (aged about 6) ran around and eventually collapsed asleep on one of the leather couches. Never go. Ever.
