OK this is a nice pub but 8.5 is far to high a score for it. It was a bit busyer than the White Hart but still only Greene King Ales on sale 5 pumps but one not in use others had two for Abbott and two for IPA which sold @ 2.29 a pint.

Brian and Dionne are great landlord and landlady and have a knack for turning pubs around. They attract a friendly, no-nonsense crowd of locals who like a drink and can get noisy and rowdy but not out of hand. I think this is the best pubs in the town for a drink with my mates.

Best pub in the town by a long way, but still little more than average.

Now under new management and possibly the best pub in town. Very friendly and of course the Aspells cider. Bar meals available and big screen for footie coverage. Dionne and brian from the Barnie are the new and capable Governors.

Well worth a visit. Friendly staff and nice boozer although the landlord and his mate the night I was there were going on like that pair of old codgers sitting in the balcony on The Muppet Show.

Super pub, well managed, nice atmosphere.
Small in size but big on character.
Definitely the best pub in the area.

Great bar maids, especially the one who works sunday night. Front bar for the elder clientel, back bar very clicky but very happening

Ive visited the Royal Exchange a few times in the past and found that the pub is a very friendly and welcoming place, especially when the landlords sister is working behind the bar!!!! I would suggest anyone over the age of 50 sits in the front bar while if your hip and happening, the place to be is the back bar

A very good pub in the heart of Haverhill. But I'm not so sure myself about John Smith's comment of the jovial landlord. The clientele are very fiendly however the back bar seems to be like the blue oyster bar.

I HAVE VISITED THE ROYAL EXCHANGE ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND HAVE ALWAYS FOUND IT TO BE VERY CLEAN AND FRIENDLY.THE LANDLORD IS ALWAYS AVAILABLE AND VERY JOVIAL, SO COMBINED WITH THE VERY EFFICIENT AND HELPFUL BARSTAFF, THE ROYAL EXCHANGE IS DEFINATELY ONE OF THE BETTER PUBS IN HAVERHILL. 10/10 FOR THE IPA & ABBOT
