I last went here about ten years ago. It wasn't great and to be honest isn't much better now. Only Doom Bar available as a cask ale. Although there was an open fire, the bar still managed to be cold. I didn't try the food.

We have just taken over and the whole place has been given a revamp. New Menu with a fantstic range meals to choose from. The cold real ale issue ha been sorted wih all new lines. Why not pop in.

Stopped off for a quick pint with a mate enroute as we were out cycling. We both ordered a pint of Doom Bar. It wasnt presented well, very murky and didn taste very nice either. Now I'm the type who will struggle through a bad pint rather than complain (more fool me) but both of us left half of and moved on.

I'm hoping this isnt always the case as pubs have bad days. Most of the reviews on here are favourable so I would go back just to see if it was a one-off.

another change of landlord, for the better i hope.beer still too cold, but was told this was being sorted.thechef has been imported from a local well known petersfield pub,so food should be excellent.the best thing is most of the tv's have disappeared hooray.good luck for the future.

Okay I'll admit some bias because essentially the place is my local but the fact is I keep going up there regardless of how much a pint costs. The landlord Chris is a friendly and amicable chap and his family all follow suit. He has done an excellent job of keeping the place ticking over, I'm not going to sing the praises of the beer but the Bluebell remains a decent pub with a very decent landlord, it's friendly, it's welcoming, you rarely if ever get trouble there and there are a variety of events including Disco's, Cabaret evenings and Live Music which help inject some life into this dead and dying little village; worth a visit if you're in the area.

Having only just discovered this sight I was surprised to see the Bluebell with such a low rating. I have been visiting this pub for several years now and have found it to be a wonderful experience since the current owners took over. My favourite memory being struggling to get a double buggy through the front door, the landlaord couldn't have got there any quicker, making us feel so welcome, which we hadn't been used to in Liss with two young children. This pub has been tastefully renovated and is a favourite with us and our family.

Visited here after a bad experience at a neighboring
pub (spread eagle inn). My family of 4 arrived outside this pub with a sign that read "large garden at rear" which with a dog in tow thought would be ideal. Unfortunately once seated outside, a number of wasps began drinking my beer. The barman informed me they had a "bit of a wasp problem" i assumed with health and safety laws it shouldn't be the customers problem. Once inside and dog asleep outside under a table we ordered our food.
I was slightly surprised that although they had a good kids menu they never had any kids drinks. I was told they were sorting this issue out but i wonder how many kids it serves if they are so easily overlooked.
The staff were helpful and polite (unlike another pub in the area) and the food was enjoyed by all. I thought the price of both the food and drink was high but thats because I'm getting old and everywhere is expensive nowadays.

Organised chaos. Very short of staff so waiting became an issue.
We ate there. I had a beef pie. Not cheap. The pastry had been cooked before hand and heated up. It was too dry to eat. The vegetables were badly overcooked.
Live music in the garden which was fun, but dont eat there.

Not lovely or ancient or any of that other stuff that can usually be depended on to turn our pretty heads, but an excellent range of beers (including our favourites from the Triple F brewery in Alton), lots of room and, most importantly, three large TV screens. So for those days when watching sport in the company of your fellow man (and occasional woman) is what tickles your fancy, we know of nowhere better in this area.
