Decent village pub this one. Two rooms with the bar between them, the quiet lounge and the more popular bar. Pool table and darks. Prices are very reasonable and the regulars are friendly enough. Reasonably nice garden to sit in in the summer. Best pub of the 4 in the village. 7/10.

Chris and Mandy provide a good welcome and work hard to ensure that the customers come first. The "dodgy" Ansells has gone for good and has been replaced by the excellent Adnam's Best to the delight of all who try it. There is also an additional guest ale and a wide variety of other beers. The pub is at the core of village life, hosting the local players and silver band and the shooting club, the church bell ringers, a golf club, its own fishing club, a darts and a crib team. The pub is in the Good Beer Guide again and rightly so. If you only want wooden beams and inglenook fireplaces, this may not suit you but if you want a good old traditional pub with friendly locals covering all ages and backgrounds then the Queen's is for you.

This pub has recently been taken over by a couple from coventry, they are aiming to introduce a basic offering of food in the near future and also make the pub more family orientated, i have visited this pub recently and have found the atmosphere a lot more welcoming and child freindly, the beer is kept to a very good quality, although the ansells bitter is struggling to hold its own at the moment due to the brewery being moved all round the country, although this is not down to the landlord as all pubs are experiencing problems with this brew at the moment, a very good selection of ales and a varying guest ale list is always on offer.

Ok regulars' pub - nothing special though perfectly friendly. Does get too smoky even for me, and I'm a smoker.

This pub used to be in the Good Pub Guide (and few pubs round here are) but has slipped out recently. The Ansells beers (well kept but still only Ansells) are more than made up for by a frequently changing guest beer (usually 4 - 4.5%). Whereas the Kings, 400 yards away, has customers from a range of ages, the Queens is for the more mature drinker. Often busy at 5pm. A small garden catches summer evening sun. No food.

The pub has recently been taken over, redecorated and the general atmosphere has greatly improved. There is a wide choice of local and guest ales and the staff and new owners are extremely friendly

This pub is pretty poor. Doesnt look very inviting from the outside and doesnt get much better once your inside it. Doesnt seem to be trying to improve either.
