user reviews of the Orange Tree, Chadwick End

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Full on Gastropub with an italian themed menu. No real problem with this but how can a lunch menu have 10 different types of pizza and not a single sandwich!

All tables laid for dining, with glassware and napkins. Outside patio area.

Three real ales - Doombar, Purity Ubu and one other I forget.

Fantastic pub. Great food, good atmosphere, and its beautiful inside, especially after there latest refurb (Feb 2012) Probably the best in the whole Solihull Area by a mile.

This place wasn't planned to be on my weekend crawl. But we visited here for a quick meal. The food was moderately priced and I would probably award this around 6/10 if this was a food website as the food itself was good. However this is a website for beer and as such I will score the Orange Tree much less. Only mass produced keg beers and lagers are available. The setting is nice and the atmosphere is comfortable. But I would not come here solely for a drink.

The Orange Tree is not expensive when you consider the quality of the food they use. A spit roast choicken may cost 1-2 more than it would at a harvester, but its cooked to perfection and is delicious, clearly they use very good quality product.

I cant understand people who would rather pay a couple of quid less for a meal, but have it cooked and served by 18 year old uni students who havent a clue and probably microwave half the meals.

The Orange tree is not only pleasant to be in, its great value when you consider how good the food is.

There seems to be something resentful about most of the reviews for The Orange Tree. I went last night, had one of the best meals I've had in recent years (and I eat in highly respected restaurants) and would recommend it to anyone. I was astonished at the high quality of food and service. So I didn't find it 'posh', 'posey' or 'pretentious' - just fantastic food at a reasonable price in a very pleasant environment. Try it!

one of the brown sofa brigade. Posh cars in the car park & food prices to match. Food is good however & outside space is quite nice.

Pretentious to a point, but it is a very nice place to go for food. Almost a resturant rather than a pub/bar. Beer was well kept (forget what I had now - it was June 2006 when I last went there), and the food has always been good.

Bit too pretentious for me although the decor is pleasant and comfortable.

Food is expensive but nice.

Great little place. Quite posey and pretentious punters but staff are not phased, and are Friendly/attractive. The food is great and reasonably priced. Fantastic for christmas too.
