A traditional hotel bar, really for residents rather than wet wanderers looking for somewhere warm and lively on a Sunday evening. Beer fairly boring cjoice - Ringwood Bitter and Pedigree

Decent old hotel with a good, quiet bar and attractive courtyard, one of the better places to stay in Salisbury. Service was friendly and professional, although the food was overpriced. The Ringwood was reasonable and drinkable, but not spectacular. I wouldn't include this place on a crawl as there are so many other good pubs nearby, but it's good to meet here for a quiet pint before moving on.

Quite posh hotel with nice beer courtyard and decent pint of ale to boot, 8/10

We were impressed by the helpfulness of the staff... but not by the food. The meat was extremely rare, the vegetables raw - and we both ended up with upset stomachs. We won't be going back.

if i haven't got my places mixed up i believe this place is haunted, i went on a ghostwalk once and there is a ghost that moves mannequin dolls or someting

Hotel bar that does food. We had to wait an hour for some sandwiches, which doesn't exactly put you in the mood to give the place a good review. 3 ales on - Bass, Ringwood and an absolutely appalling guest ale that I didn't recognise. Another pub in Salisbury that greatly disappoints.

This is not so much a "pub" as a relic from a former age. It's a hotel, first and foremost. The staff seem to be largely East European. Beer pretty average, food decent. It is a place my wife "feels safe in on her own".

The staff in this pub are rude, immature and need a kick up the backside, particularly the Vicky Pollard wannabe who's lack of knowledge about well-kept beer is, quite frankly, terrifying.
The management need replacing and the staff need a crash-course in customer-service and cellar-management.
Oh, and it's expensive!

Walking through Salisbury, my disabled friend and I popped into Oxfam and a very friendly helper in there told us about the Red Lion. Though a hotel, it did have a well stocked bar, disabled access and was comfy. What a difference professional staff make to a place. The two chaps behind the bar were friendly, pulled a great pint, made my companion feel entirely at home even so far as showing her to the Function Room toilets (which were out across the courtyard) as they had the best disabled access. The other patrons were great, amiable and our time there was well spent. When I'm next in Salisbury, I will definitely pop back along there. 10/10.
