Felt more like a proper pub than the Three Crowns on the main road. This pub is the other side of the village green and tables at the front have a good view of the green. We sat outside. But the interior looked fairly nice too. Live football was on the TV. Ales were Dark Star Hophead, Harveys Sussex Best Bitter, St Austell Tribute & Fullers London Pride.

I like the Cricks
it does a few things better than other pubs
Real ale is Harvey's, Pride and a guest one and all kept in reasonable condition although they are all too cold usually, the head doesn't stick to the side of the glass which an indication that the glass isn't "beer clean" but taste wise it's good. Not a great selection of lagers, just the usual suspects of fosters, heineken etc. which for a free house I think is a wasted opportunity to stock something a bit more special.
Food is good quality, and it hasn't succumbed to the thing that drives me mad about the food pubs and that is giving you a tiny portion of food for a lot of money, here you pay for a plate full and you get a plate full so fair play to them for that.
Overall a decent pub and worth a visit if only for the bang for buck factor.

Turned up on spec on a Saturday evening and despite a full pub they brought out a spare table for three strangely dressed men (we had been to the Goodwod Revival). Quite simply superb and friendly service. Limited menu (good thing) excellent portions fast and friendly service and a good pint of Ringwood.

My thoughts are nostalgic-based too - of a great landlord (Ian) bar billiards matches, and the best jukebox for miles around (it had Led Zeppelin for goodness' sake!) Don't want to spoil those memories so I will remain locked in that time warp....

As a Wisborough Green resident for the last 8 years we have been saddened by the deterioration in this pub. We used be regulars and 'stuck in there' for some time hoping things would improve. Our main grouse is that the food is very variable in quality and so is the service. Depending on who takes your order you can be made to feel you are wasting their valuable time or the service can be extremely efficent and good humoured. However, latterly we have come away feeling aggrieved too often to recommend the experience to anyone else. The bottom line is they have a fantastic location and the management think that you the customer can take pot luck. Is that good enough? We think not.

Popped into this pub for a bit of lunch with my partner a couple of Saturdays ago. Despite it being busy (always a good sign), the staff were fantastically friendly and helpful, and our food (which was delicious) came really quickly. Great atmosphere.Shall definately be coming back when I'm next in the area.

Excellent food. Starters would fill up most appetites! Good home made stuff but a fairly limited menu. The fajitas were superb and I would go back just for those. Beer is good and the staff very friendly. Often have live music on a Thursday and at the weekend. Be careful where you park, had our car damaged by some scumbag who clearly knew what he'd done but just drove off.

I have also frequented this pub for many years and fail to understand the comments that have been posted anonymously on the 9th July and also comments posted on 26th May. I have to say that in my opinion and in many of my friends opinion, the standard and atmosphere of the pub has improved vastly over the past months that Cheffy has taken over.I fail to understand how anonymous people can view it that the standard of food has been in rapid decline, when it has been the same chef for the past six years, and the very person who has increased the fantastic food trade in this pub during this time. I believe that 'the young chav like dickheads who were once familiar faces and certainly interesting characters'(to say the least) have chosen to no longer frequent the pub, which as many will agree, can only be a boost for the Cricks. In terms of the staff, it is most welcoming to have happy, cheerful people serving you. A key feature of why we go to the pub.

been going to this pubs for years, the old landlady sarah tulip ran this pub with amazing attention to detail and was fanatical about the food, drink and the way it was served. sadly sarah has now left and about 3 or 4 months after she left the standard of the food and the customer service has been in rapid decline. most of the new staff are lacking in people skils and personality and treating the place like a doss house. the attention to detail has gone and now meals like gammon, egg and chips and a few other meals involving chips are on the specials board, what is speacial about that? the customer base has also changed mainly because of the slipping standards in the food and customer service but also because young chav like dickheads are not kept in check and / or kicked out, to make matters worse some of them now work behind the bar!. many of the familiar faces and interesting characters are not seen anymore i think because of this. the warm friendly country pub has been replaced with a low quality town pub. what was a pub you wouldn't mind traveling to is now one to avoid. the only good thing about the cricketers arms is the harvey's which is probably the best beer on earth but this is only kept in an average state and is very inconsistent compared to other pubs that serve it ( white lion in thakeham, selsey arms coolham, royal oak wineham ). i'm always suspicious of the beer at pubs that are run by people that dont drink beer. for having harvey's on the pump i have given this 1/10 otherwise it would have been 0/10. somebody bring this dreadful pub back to its former glory.bring sarah tulip back please!

Such a delightful pub located on a village Green with sporty types playing on the Green - the quintessential English experience & I can only reiterate what MadKiwi stated above.
A genuinely lovely spot
