This is a cosy little haunt hidden in the steep back streets under the shadow of St. Marys church. The beer is a bit pricey and not of consistent quality. I don't think the bar manager tastes it often enough and it is left for the embarrased customer to reluctantly return a twangy pint. It is changed, no questions, but, you know...

3.14 Yes 3.14 for a pint of Landlord. Lovely Pub, just let down by the price of it's beer.

beerbob66 Needs to take a walk around town for some real ale..ie The North Riding..The Valley..Cellars..Scholars..The Angel..all of which have outstanding beers at a LOT less than The Leeds Arms. That is the only thing that lets the place down the PRICE of beer!!

Nice place but only had one ale on when I went in (early January 2010). I would return if I'm ever in Scarborough again.

Made my annual pilgrimage with my southern friends to the Leeds. Tim Taylors and ' Spooky' were superb as was the whole pub, again...I really don't know what some of these people want, perhaps they should all stay in Wetherspoons, cheap crap beer for cheap, crap people.

Not the cheapest place, but then if you're after nowt but cheap booze you may as well frequent the souless, plastic establishments identical to every town centre. The Leeds is a 'proper' locals place, its very small and so can seem quite busy at times. Very friendly bar staff, keeps a good pint of Bass and Tim Taylors Landlord. As the last reviewer said, it's an absolute gem, this is how real pubs should be.

An absolute gem. I'd been in on a Monday on a previous visit back home in the evening and on this occasion I went in with a pal after a long walk taking in the sea air.
It was quiet but friendly. The landlord (Mick) gave us a history lesson in a nice way and explained the many pictures and memoribilia. The draught Bass was cock on. I'll definately back and I'll try and make it on a quiet afternoon to get full value from it.

This is a local pub again expensive and only small so can get very full at busy times.

Very much a local pub for local people only. I visited whilst on holiday in the area because I'd been told it was the best pub in this part of town. The pub was busy on a Friday evening but there were 3 staff serving. I stood at the bar attempting to catch the eye of one of the staff whilst brandishing my ten pound note and gazing longingly at the Taylors Landlord handpump. Unfortunately I seemed to have become invisible, and when not actually serving the staff were chatting and chortling with their friends, remaining determinedly unaware of my existence. Not sure whether the staff were just a bit clueless or whether they were just determined not to serve an unfamilar face- I suspect the latter, as people either side of me were being served. First experience of this kind in 25 years of pubgoing, and in a way I suppose it's reassuring that some pubs can still afford to turn away custom in this way. I went elsewhere- and if you're a visitor to the town you should do the same.

Proper pub, great staff, lovely beer, amongst the best of the 20 odd pubs visited on my holiday...nuff said.

Great pub a bit steep on the prices but a scarborough gem.

Cracking- a proper pub. Yes its full of locals, but always made welcome. I went in this weekend with a bunch of southerners from Bournemouth (showing them the true north) and introduced them to Timothy Taylors- A1, and Ginger Whinger. All sad when we had to leave. Full of real people not like the richard heads you get at The Square & Compass in Worth Matravers.

Without doubt a locals pub - beer good & friendly service

Probably my real 'local' - still a favourite though only visited occasionally since we left Scarborough. Clients mostly local - not a tourist haunt and very small, good for a chatty night with a couple of friends. Beers in excellent condition.

Smallish pub in the current CAMRA Good Beer Guide, lots of nautical memorabilia, in a sidestreet off the main road leading down to the seafront. Five beers on handpump, my pint of Taylor's Landlord was excellent, although relatively pricey for the area at 2.62.
Not to be confused with the nearby Leeds Hotel, which you will probably have to walk right past to get there.
