Recently refurbished and reopened as The George Tapps, four handpumps, Doom Bar and St Austell Proper Job are regulars with a St Austell Xmas ale and Ringwood Razorback a.k.a Best as guests. Old Rosie cider on a fifth handpump. Pleasant enough early afternoon Xmas Eve and Boxing Day.

Very loud indeed, but had 3 ales on to our surprise, only a shame they were in a plastic glass which spoils the enjoyment. More of a sports pub by the look of it and disco later on.
|
Ok for a pint and sport. Comfortable seating, no real ales but staff friendly enough. Funky lighting is good. Worth a visit. Plenty of eating houses around here with a world wide flavour.
|
Good pub, Food nice, Beer well kept, Not bad prices, Great place to watch footy, and the funky phone charger saved my skin! (not moaning but a better charge for my quid would have been nice)

Only went in here as it was the nearest pub to our hotel that was showing the Blackburn v Spurs game on Saturday. Im not sure what pissed me off the most. The lack of any decent beer, the lack of any decent atmosphere, or the fact that Spurs dominated the game and somehow still conspired to get beat. Thinking about it, it was definitely the last one. But all in all, a thoroughly depressing experience.

After 10 minutes of waiting for non-existent service, we moved on - which was no great loss, no draught ale, no women and next to no staff. What a lousy apology for a pub.

much better since refurbishment. Looks better. I know one of the bouncers here and he is a smashing bloke, though generally bouncers do have attitude, I think looking at this site, you get that in most places. I now live in London but I love coming home to Bournemouth and having the first drink of the evening in litten tree. Its a bit chavvy, cheesy music and not great beer but if you just want somewhere for a laugh and bit of a dance, then this down to earth venue is it.

food was ok but not great, beer wasnt that good but passable, the music... i agree with preveous kylie comment, it did my head in. The doorstaff seemed like a reasonable bunch, though could have been polite when spoken too (ignorant "***" just grunted & looked away!). service was a little slow....but ok. amazing atmosphere on football days. not my kind of place really, i regret spending my cash here but will go if friends are going....

What a boozy dive, sport on TV and projection on every wall including the garden.

I been a regular here on a Friday &/or Saturday night for almost a year and I have seen one or two bits of trouble, and they were only hand bags at dawn.
I've found the Litten Tree bouncers friendly, as well as the staff.
The foor is excellent and the DJ plays great music - a little bit of everything.
It's a fun pub, and always very busy on a Saturday night.
|
Lively pub with dance floor which tends to attract the girls. Door staff are very visible inside the pub. Most annoying thing is having the assistant in the gents looking for a tip for handing you a towel. Typical range of drinks.
|
I fink andy_p must be in the wrong pub or under-aged or just pissed. Pity they didn't facelift the bouncers - Miserable f@ckers. Agree that it's best to bypass this toilet unless you are looking for trouble.

What a great pub, the Litten Tree is now it has had a face lift.
Thursdays are a great night, to have a laugh singing your favourite songs with a pint and mates.
The girls can really well, in Bournemouth, worth coming inside, just to hear them
|
Fist of all the bouncers pounce around thinking the own the place, second If i wanted to get shit faced and listen to kylie I would stay at home and sit in my little sisters room! If you want a pub go to Bar Vin, Slug or O'Neills instead

The photo above is out of date, it had a refurb last year. So now its a shiny new toilet instead of being an old rubbish one! A toilet's still a toilet though..... Good place to come if you want to get bottled by a lagered up "footie" hooligan when there's a game on. Real footie fans (the non-thugs) go to Bar Vin for a good, non-violent, atmosphere.
|
This pub is probably the best toilet in Bournemouth. Ever wondered why there is so much trouble in here - just watch the bouncers they cause it all. I agree with others, has this floor ever been cleaned - Wonder what state the kitchen is in. Please don't eat the food if you do venture in here. The only clean place in here is in fact the toilet... if you do come in here give the geezer a quid. PS: The beer is also crap.
|
Litten tree is always a good night out. Me and my mates often start a pub crawl there and just end up staying there. good drinks selection. only downfall is the mouthy black bloke in the guys toilets trying to nick a quid of you for handing you a towel and being abusive when you dont.

Seems to have taken over from Bar Vin as the place for late drinkers. Plenty of scantily clad young girls but this Saturday they only seemed to have eyes for each other. Only one aggressive drunk ejected while I was there...
|
Sticky floored chav infested simian bouncered replibar. Cavernous inside, the only plus points were watching people old enough to know better dancing-as-comedy. Air of latent violence, easy to imagine it 'all kicking off'.
|
no one in bournemouth drinks here. full of hen/stag do's. jusy wish they would stay there and not infect the rest of the town.

ben drinking in this pub for quite a long time and watched pretty much every England game here - always been a great pub. That is, until yesterday !not prepared at all for the France game, not enough doormen, when a fight started they didn't even evict the antagonist, we were threatened by a another group and the manager said there was nothing he could do and he knew it was going to kick off ! he was right,we left at half time but the police had to go at full time as a huge fight kicked off. NEVER GOING AGAIN !!!

Having been assured service at the bar had improved i went in the other saturday afternoon and was pleased to say everything was much better run. Not a bad pub at all and very lively for big football matches

Judging by the comments posted on other Litten Tree outlets this must be one of the better ones. It's good for footie matches in general, not just England games. Food wasn't too bad when me and the wife were in there yesterday although the Marstons Pedigree left a lot to be desired. Like John, I didn't realise that they had a manager although unlike John, I don't mean that as a criticism as things seemed to be running pretty smoothly and the time waiting to be served wasn't excessive.

Great for England football matches!
