CLOSED - surprising, was always relativey busy and they charged enough. I had some good nights in here but no major loss to EC1.

Not a great bar , i live nearby and have only been in here once or twice as i think the place is too expensive for what it is. PIYA PIYA in city road is the same overpriced and catering for the out of townies that descend on this areaat the weekends to go out.
The week is a good time to go as it is more comfortable, weekends are a nightmare.

Bar and Grill? Saw little evidence of either. Interior made of wood that seems to have been soaked for a few years and encouraged to rot. After carefully examining the selection of drinks available, I had a tonic water and stood outside next to a ledge with a sign reading 'Do Not Place Your Drinks Here'. I placed my drink there, which I would not have done with something as heavy as a pint. It survived for the five minutes it took me to decide I would not be staying. The toilets stunk like an armpit with a poo under it. This pub will be shut soon. Suggest that the Tesco Metro nearby is better, take your own brown paper bag.

its shut? was supposed to reopen on the 7th of june.. ?

Chilled out bar, with a retro 70s feel to the decor. As has previously been said, there isnt a great deal of places to sit, but on the calmer nights of the week it has a relaxed feel to the place.
Only had bottled beer, although didnt seem that expensive.
Has a downstairs club as well, but I feel it is more of an afternoon/weekend place myself.

I went there not too long ago with Richie B, and ended up spending a fortune. The place is great and the music, drinks and women are fine!!! But don't go there with a tight wad as you will end up having to pay through the nose!!!!

Sat outside and had a drink here so can't really comment on the atmosphere inside. Although it didnt seem very chilled when I popped to the bar to buy drinks.
Wouldnt go there again.

Agree with the earlier comment about being sterile. This place has got no soul. You can rarely get a seat, the decor is bland, it takes forever to get served, and you just generally feel like you can't relax. I suppose you'd like it if you were an aspiring city boy from Romford, but there's much nicer places nearby.

I really liked it! there was no bland funky Essex house at 'The Filth' the other week. Big nasty basslines and non-pretentious electro was what we got. The bar staff were friendly enough too. Top atmosphere.

City pub for city people. If you like looks but not comfort this is the place for you.

This place is really better suited to a London satellite town, such as Reading or Romford. The rude bar staff who work here seem to think theyve hit the big time of the service industry (perhaps they need reminding of what their job actually is). The music is the usual funky/tiresome/boorish house music that seems to please the identikit crowd of clones/clowns. Such a good location too criminal!

This was a typical cityboy bar that has asparations of being a trendy spot, due only to its location. Letchy blokes, sterile atmosphere and watered-down commercial house tunes dont make for a nice night out for a group of girls wanting to dance to decent shoreditch sounds. This place would be more at home in the home counties, in the mid nineties! Oh well, you live and learn!
