Busy little Pub serving pub grub @ reasonable prices ,Cask ale reward now selling 4 Real Ales. Landlord & Locals Welcomed my family and noticed it's also dog friendly . Very Clean & cosy with fire burning and candles on tables .

@samuelsrest. I assume you are the new landlord with a name like that. I'm sure we will find out soon if you are right.

Oh dear topsailjon was right - I met a mate for a pint at the weekend and we both had dodgy ale. Never eaten their but have long memories of drinking their. Freindly still but dodgy beer is never good, especially at the price.

Went to the pub a few weeks ago with a huge number of morris men who were in Hampshire for the weekend. Very dissapointed with the beer. Couldn't find anything worth drinking. I had a pint of 6X which was almost undrinkable, not quite bad enough to send back but flat & tasteless. Left after drinking about a quarter of it. Went to the other pub in the village where I had excellent beer at sensible prices.

Have i been to a different pub to you guys ? I find the landlord & landlady really friendly & helpfull, Had a superb sunday roast, & the 6x was superb. A proper pub I will visit again as soon as i can.

really disappointing atmosphere and food. shame.

Went there last night to perform a Mummers Play. One customer and a barman. We didn't even bother to go in. Once one of the best pubs in the area as a Marstons house. Now not worth the bother of getting there.

I agree with the previous review "The landlord makes you feel about as welcome as a clouwn at a funeral" What a shame this pub was very good 25 years ago.

The beer is pretty disappointing. There isn't a great selection and on occasion it doesn't always seem to be at the prime of life when it's served. Sadly the food ain't so great either. It has a nice garden and you're probably better off there than inside, where the landlord makes you feel about as welcome as a clown at a funeral. Nothing like as good as it used to be. Ah well, you can always head to the Wheatsheaf down the road, better beer and a warmer welcome.

Genuine pub atmosphere and excellent beer.
Resturant provides very tastey pub food.
Try a Thursday evening when after the darts match, snacks and sandwiches gets passed around.
