Had food and drinks in here. Good friendly staff and the food was very good. It's a pity the Navigation Golden Anchor was a bit bland in taste.

I came in here following a recommendation from the Newshouse. Friendly barstaff and locals. One guy (keen historian) telling me the history of the city with enthusiasm. Can't remember the name of the ale I drank but it was in good condition.
Drank a glass of port before leaving. Nice place.

A pint of Navigation "Traditional" for £2.50, great atmosphere and busy but not overcrowded - hard to beat!

Best pub in the Lacemarket since the Kean's Head has turned to garbage,
|
Still run by Great Northern Inns, but now serving beers from Navigation, only operating since March this year. At least three of their own ales on, plus 4/5 guests, all in very good nick. Highly attentive and efficient staff showed us to the upstairs dining room when the bar area was too crowded to sit and eat. Extremely good food at pretty rresaonable prices. An excellent operation all round.

Visited on 5 May when the mighty Us lost 4-1 to County. Had a couple of very good pints here, large open pub, very busy and couldnt find a seat but with knowledgeable and efficient bar staff. Had the Titanic Porter which was good and one other whose name I forget but a good stop nevertheless. 8/10

Love this place, great Ale staff always attentive. Hate to pass without going in.

Called in today by chance. Warm reception from both waiting and bar staff, very friendly. Cracking pint of Blue Monkey's BGTips. 5 other RAs on. Music playing quietly, TVs showing England exit from the cricket WC.

Re-opened a few months ago. Serves six real ales which are usually in very good nick although the selection can be a little mundane at times. Gets busy with food orders (and coffee drinkers!). On the whole tho' a decent addition to the real ale scene.

A decent pint of Oakham JHB and at 2.30 (with 20p CAMRA discount) I don't count that as expenesive these days.
|
Thought it was quite expensive, though beer quality was great.
|
They've done a fantastic job with the decor and they have a good choice of real ales at decent prices. Just far enough away from the city centre to deter the riff raff, so well recommended.
|
Now owned by Great Northern Inns and doing a great job. CAMRA discount plus 5 real ales.

DJ now back on saturday nights and the place is much more like its old self - still too expensive for a pint though
|
Recent refurbishment has meant its lost its old character (they no longer have a DJ on Saturday nights), and at 2.90 a pint for lager its way over-priced
