Sherwood Manor, Sherwoodback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
A very poor example of a family chain foody pub. This place attracts a lot of the local riff raff that make for a rather unpleasant atmosphere. the pub offers the usual microwave no thrills cheap (but by no means cheerfull) pub grub. They have several cask ales on but these usually comprise of the standard dire Greene king range (speckled hen, Greene king in etc) but the odd Nottingham brewery ale can be found and is kept rather well considering the type of establishment. On the plus side being a hungry horse pub the prices are very reasonable and I must admit to having one of the freshest pints of Guinness I have had in a long time at a very reasonable £3.10 per pint. An ok pub to nip in for a swift beer and sport but people looking for atmosphere, nice food, good ale or a hassle free night out surrounded by nice people are advise to avoid and seek out other places.

I know a few things about this pub that i was told by somone who worked there. The food is all prepacked and frozen and when you order it at the bar it is then brought out the freezer and cling filmed then put into the microwave. The amount of microwaves they have is shocking! and my mate told me of how dishes are sent back all the time to the kitchen because they are not edible. People pay around 6.00 to 12.00 for a dish and its just plastic crap you would find better food on a plane. The kitchen is clean as they do spend time cleaning it each night. But its just the poor people who pay for that food and its not fair to treat people that way.The staff dont really care as they are quite young and as for the pub. Its decorated quite nice and looks nice from the outside which is possibley why they get custom. It was smokey and people were forced to eat in there.Even though they had a smoking area. But now it will be smoke free from the ban.I have wrote this to advise people of what they will be buying when they eat there trust me the only thing thats not frozen or microwaved is possibley the baguettes. As for the beer ive heard its ok. This pub Is more of a food place and not many people just come in for a drink.

One of the worst pubs locally. Clouds of thick smoke to ruin any meal - which is horrible stodge anyway.
Beer is barely passable and the young staff are not interested - may be if I drank Carling !
Do not bother as you will be dissapointed.

my anniversary dinner at sherwood manor. Prawn cocktail...the prawns were very cold and had no taste like they'd been run under the cold water tap, i returned it manager apologised offered me another starter of my choice, chose garlic mushrooms. Mushrooms were juicy the garlic sauce was like cooking oil with no taste decide to give the main course a try. Ordered medium rare steak, mushrooms, chef choice veg stilton sauce and chips.steak was tender but no pink inside, mushrooms were shrivelled, the veg was carrots and geen beans, the carrots were totally dry and hard, the green beans had no taste and the stilton sauce was very bland, the chips were fine but i was too upset to eat. told manager he said sorry and then took my card and asked me to pay for the meal, my husband was ok with his order so i paid but the experience totally ruined my 27th anniversary, we dont go to dinner very often and it will never be there again
