Pub is okay, shame no longer doing ale but the food is great especially the chilli paneer, although must be new chef as the portions are a little smaller than previously

Best pub I've been in for a while, has everything you need, Sky, pool, darts, space to move, amazing curries, friendly bar staff, locals who dont glare at you, champion! Prices are reasonable for London too

Recently visited after many years. Surprisingly welcoming and affable crowd: even the kids round the pool tables were chilled. Predominantly Asian clientelle were more than happy to chew the fat - never made to feel out of place or unwelcome in the same way Eastern European pubs in Hounslow.

I was the only person at the bar and I had to wait a while for service, but an apology was given. I think that each of the barmaids thought that the other was serving me.
The back room has 2 pool tables, a dart board and an old TV. The main bar area is narrow, but quite comfortable and has a plasma. There is also a function type room at the front of the pub that had a strong smell of curry wafting around it.
The drinks selection is pretty unremarkable with Courage best and standards lagers on offer.
Id say that this pub is ok for the area.

Tried this pub today as I was working in the area, and I have to say I was very impressed. I am from outside the area (Bristol) and was made to feel very welcome by the manageress (Paula) her staff and the locals in the pub. They have a good range of facilities in the pub, pool tables, sky, good atmosphere, good beer and best of all superb food. I would definitely visit this pub again. But be warned, don't mention anything bad about Liverpool football club to Paula as you might get your food rather quicker than you thought - over your head! Only joking. If you have not tried this pub I can assure you you won't be disappointed.

This pub is alright not the cream of the crop though... For an extra 5 min walk i'd prefer to pop into the Bully... I dunno...its improved buts it is very very very quiet...has really young chavs in and more of a really old guy crowd... I like the pool table though...but thats about it to be honest...
Could do with some improvement....

Excellent curry, fast and efficient service and a good range of drinks affordably priced.
This pub has vastly improved under it's new management.
By the way, did I mention it's excellent curry?!
|
Shabby but friendly. As Kollantai said, vastly improved.
The food is unbelievably good value.
Nice to be able to play pool & the two tables don't appear to attract any bad attitudes.

Agreed that this pub has really cleaned up it's act over the last few years. I occasionally visit on a Monday night if there's a good football match on Sky. They do superb curries and there is a good range of beer and spirits. My loyalties are still with The White Bear around the corner, but this pub is really good for Hounslow.
I thoroughly recommend the tandoori mixed grill for 9. Superb!

This is a pub that has pulled itself up in the last couple of years. They serve execellent Asian food. Try the Tandoori Grill (7 for 2). You will not be disappointed

.... eh, did I or did I not add the disclaimer that it was over a year ago since my last visit and my observations therefore were potentially redundant? Maybe it was in the process of being revamped. I'll swing by some time and give it another go.

i think this is one of the most friendlist pubs in the whole of hounslow i go in there nearly everyday since its take over by sam and dino.... they have turned a bad reputation grimey pub into a top class, well decorated and designed pub.. i think james dont no what he is talking about.. PRAT!!! The food... OH my god its beautiful.. compliments to the chef.. best pint in hounslow.. ALL IN ALL A WINNER!!!! They have pool tables, table football-- very good players.. This place is weird. Weird, weird, weird. I used to like it when it was full of old men and dodgey geezers playing pool and it was dark and grimey. It's not much differant now except the decor has gone seriously down hill and it seems brighter. I do not know who decided on the paint job but they are actually insane. Again, I must add that it was about a year ago when I last visited but the place seemed to be well and truly heading for the pits. Good for: Scoring probably (And I'm not talking ladies)

The Black horse Pub now has got a Football team which is entering is starting its first year in the London Comercial League. Good luck to the team and lets hope they win something!. This can only mean more knees-ups!. I have also noticed a lot of yound females around the pub recently. Perhaps this is turning into a pickup joint!

What can I say, samshing bar staff, excellent food and a good pint. This pub also has a nice garden, pool / games area and large screen TV, great for watching footy.

This place is the place to go for a good knees up! Good lively crowd, lots of footy on the Big screen weekly. Better when the big rivals play (Man U or Arsenal against Liverpool as this is a scouser pub!) and Win. Got a great Football team!!! I spend anymore time in it and I could be a bar stool! Great place to have a party as it has a area that can be closed of! Sam and Dino have done well since its take over.
