Deceptive looking pub, looks crap from the outside but is very decent once you enter.
The ales on offer were GK IPA, GK Abbot Ale & Fuller's London Pride. My pint of Pride was fine but one of my travelling party didn't enjoy there's.
Nice tiles under the bar area, the rest of the pub is nicely decorated with "fancy" wallpaper on the far wall near one of the television's.
Music playing of the juke box while the tv's were on mute.
I won't mention the pub dog.

Friendly enough in my experience but is the cheapest of the three near Benfleet station and so unsurprisingly can be the rowdiest and youngest on a Friday & Saturday night. Decent selection of beers though and mid week is quiet and welcoming.

I remembered this pub when it was called the Crown ( until a tanker ploughed into it one night... hence the 're-formed name' )... not bad pub... a few Canvey chavs drink there now... ( still prefer the Hoy though.. )..

Play for the Carling Crusaders and I guess you can say this is our local. After every game they put on a FREE spread for us which is a nice touch. Also great to watch footy in and generally have some banter...
100% recommended!

Anonymous 29 Dec 2005, "they came over to us and told us to move, as we were sitting at "their" table"
What has really changed in this pub - irrespective of the last anonymous review ? No rating left, not been around that area for years.

Pub has improved since the West Ham scarf has disappeared from behind the bar. Seriously, good pub with reasonably priced drinks and tv screens but not much of a beer garden. Can be very hit and miss in terms of atmosphere (sometimes packed but sometimes dead on Saturday nights).

New landlord is friendly and wont stop talking! Any locals asking me to move would be told where to go! give it a try.

Tried this pub in September with two relations.
Started off well, with quick service and some banter with barman. Ten minutes later however, a group of men came in, and after getting their drinks, they came over to us and told us to move, as we were sitting at "their" table. Not wanting a fuss, we moved. Barman appologised as we left, but the place left a nasty taste.

Warm and friendly pub in the Conservation of South Benfleet with open fireplaces and good selection of Lagers and local ales. Food is of exceptionally good value and the staff are helpful, friendly and attentive. Friday nights are busy with commuters and weekend are of mixed age groups which adds to the ambience. This is the best pub of the Three in the conservation area. Wort a visit !
