The largest pub I've ever seen. No local beers seen so I had a Doom Bar, which was ok. They actually have a non-smoking garden, as well as a smoking garden. Never seen that before. Only 2 people were smoking in the non-smoking garden (why???).

This well established Wetherspoons has discos where even black people like me can feel at home. Not many discos where you have a choice of 6 real ales in England! The bar staff are a bit sloppy , and the area around the bar seems to smell of vomit, but I heard its due for a refurb....if its too crowded you can always try the pub next door......which also has real ale........

This is a very good Spoons house, but then again maybe I'm biased as a bit of a fan of this budget pub chain. Whenever I visit a new town I always check out the Spoons, but I also love to drink in a town's traditional real ale selling trad boozers too. Anyway 8 out of 10 for the Globe.

Like RogerB (2009), I have stayed at the Globe on a couple of occasions (spring 2011 and late 2012) - there was no police emergency I'm relieved to say, but the noise for my first stay very nearly made be decide never to return. But as a budget hotel, it's fine, service helpful and facilities pretty good. Breakfast was a idyll of calm. So I would endorse RogerB's review, but suggest that you use the place judiciously and consider the Crown & Mitre or Lattice House for a beer or an evening meal. Parking is compromised by use of the Tuesday Market but street parking is fine.

Came to Kings Lynn and went here on Thursday 6- 09-12 for the wife's birthday.Got a pint of local ale and a G and T. Clean place and pleasant enough.....worse was to occur later in the day from some other of the Lynn pubs!

A fairly nice JD Weatherspoons that transforms into a hellhole at night. The beer garden overlooking the quay is good for a spot of cheap, unpretentious lunch.

Only come to Kings Lynn when visiting the in laws and this is the place we mostly come to. Not a bad place but the bar staff really need to be more clued up.

Probably the most Jeckyl & Hyde Wetherspoons I have experienced. The initial signs were not good. We were actually staying in the hotel and I popped down for a quick pint at about 7pm, all calm and peaceful. We left to meet some friends at the Lattice House and then made our way to the Crown & Mitre at 8.30pm. There were already police vans outside the Globe and one person spreadeagled on the floor with a coppers foot firmly entrenched on his back. Welcome to Saturday night in Kings Lynn. At gone midnight we returned but with a healthy throng of police cars eyeballing the place I had no desire to set foot in the bar, even for a desperate last pint amongst the ear shattering music. Luckily we were staying in a quiet room which did manage to reduce the noise to a mild earthquake.
I half expected to wake up Sunday morning to find the windows boarded up but Sunday breakfast was taken amid a serenity that made the previous evening seem quite surreal. We did a round of the town before a lunch time meet up back at the Globe and the place was now packed with families out to make the most of the Sunday roast (they dont have the usual Sunday club dinners here but have their own carvery which judging by the queues inside is very popular).
As for the pub itself, it is huge and seems to go on forever but the dcor etc is pretty formulaic throughout. There are a few high backed pews for a bit of intimacy but generally it is all quite open and impersonal. There were 2 guest beers over the weekend of our stay, neither of them anything to write home about (Nethergate Holy Smoke and Bath Spa). The blandness of the interior is in contrast to the massive but well maintained beer garden that stretches down to the Great Ouse where the waders and gulls dip for food as the tide recedes. From the riverside terrace, it is actually quicker to hop over the wall and get a pint in the Crown & Mitre than it is to do a round trip to the Globes bar.
The bottom line is that if it is a sunny day, the Globe is worth a visit to enjoy the views from the garden. If it is the evening, especially the weekend, the place is not even worthy of a peep through the window.
On the non pub side of things for those who are planning to stay at the Globe, we did found its facilities clean and tidy and as good as any other budget hotel. Service and reception was very good and if a rowdy Saturday night is what you are after, you get a card that lets you into the bar from the hotel area so you will avoid the queues and bouncers!

Huge, sprawling, timbered Wetherspoons lodge/pub. Fabulous beer garden leading down to a small terrace with a view across the river.Sunday carvery excellent value. Good value guest ales Moorhouse Black Cat and Stonehenge Eye Level well kept. You know what to expext from Spoons by now - one of the better ones.

What can I say about the place that I work for? Its a Wetherspoons, so cheap food, cheap drinks and as its in Kings Lynn cheap girls!! Good place to start your night, fantastic Friday night DJ, not so much for the Saturday night DJ! Always holding some sort of party night, the next one being a pyjama party. And to top it off, a fantastic morning after the night before breakfast will be served through until 12.00.
Enjoy my bar and say hello when you pop your head in.

One of the better pubs in Kings Lynn (not hard), despite most of the real ales being unavailable for some unexplained reason. Surprisingly, much cheaper than the nearby Wetherspoons (the Lattice House).

Leaving all other local pubs in the shade. Clean, tidy and pints 60p lower than the local norm. Beer garden a must in the summer.

Stayed on numerous Saturday nights, we have a meal, few drinks in the bar, rooms are clean, staff are pleasant, we have breakfast in the morning and then home. Very good value for money, no drinking and driving.

One of the best Spoons / lloyds I've visited. Very Clean, great variety of real ales (April Festival). Music played at a sensible level. Food on a par with all Spoon's but does get very busy during lunchtime. Tremendous Beer Garden overlooking the river, without doubt worth a visit in the summer if in King's Lynn. If you like quiet bars, avoid this on a weekend night. It has a very lively atmosphere and the natives do like to joust occasionally.

Stayed in the globe hotel for 2 nights with my partner. Really nice hotel cheap and clean. The hotel is cheaper at the weekend The rooms were nice had a tv in the room and we were able to make a coffee. The staff were really helpful and partite. Here are a few tips When booking the room I was told that the disco is on till 1am and that we might hear the music in the room. The room was quite in the evening did not hear the disco at all. The only noise I heard was in the morning when the bar staff were recycling all the beer bottles. There is a car park oppist the hotel but at the weekend I found it hard to find a space, however I did notice if you get there before 7pm in the evening you will find a handfull of spaces. If your looking for food the bar down stairs servces food till late, but we found that it was a bit busy and noisy. We found another wetherspoons The Lattice House aross the car park in the next street. Serves food till late and the bar is open till 1am. Overall had a wonderful weekend and would go back

Went on sunday for food, waited 10 minutes at the bar and got no service, then heard one of the bar maids say to someone that food would take 35 minutes. Walked out in disgust!

We stayed in this Wetherlodge last week.Nice rooms but unfortunately the bar was all being done up and closed except 4 breakfast!! We did still manage to get a beer 4 breakfast still so it was saved! 8/10

Pub, Garden and accommadation are excellent but food (excluding breakfast) is pants. On one occasion my mate ordered duck. After picking at it for a while the waiter came to clear the plates. He enquired if everything was OK and my mate said no the duck was horrible. The waiter replied "no I don't like duck either" and walked off.

The happening pub on a Friday and Saturday night. Less real ale and a bit more expensive than the standard Weatherspoons (see drinker comment). If its a nice day I recommend the garden, truely massive which goes all the way back to the river.

i regret to inform you that i've never had such an unpleasent meal as i did when i visited this pub. the service was poor and when the food came out was greeted with what resembled a dried up steak. when complaining to the female manager i was treated as an inconvinience and was rather offended.

Since reopening last year,it's been THE pub for Lynn. Anyone who wants an 'original' Wetherspoons without the music should check out The Lattice House, behind the Mayde's Head on the other side of the marketplace. Get talking to Ken (he's always in the corner by the fruit machine) if you want to know anything about West Norfolk.

Wetherspoons, with music and beds: What could be better? At weekends the rate is 35 (per room, not per person), rising to 40 during the week. The rooms are pretty large, very clean and very comfortable, comparing extremely favourably to other budget hotels I've stayed in. Every room comes with a TV, coffee-making facilities, and a huge en suite bathroom decorated in the Wetherspoons style. Breakfast is a real treat in the pub downstairs, although this is charged extra. I'm looking forward to going to another Wetherlodge very soon, staying here was bloody marvellous.
