I miss Beartown's beers.

Now closed, a really sad thing to have happened. It leaves your more discerning drinker with little choice other than to venture outside of Fallowfield.

With its strange opening hours & lack of custom,it would appear to have little going for it.However the beers very good(Congleton brewery),it does decent continental lagers & the bar staff have ben very helpful whenever I`ve been in.....Contradictions abound!

Used to be Bamboo, opposite Glass. Serves some really nice real ales with a bear theme and does 99p a pint from 5-8 IIRC. Has a big screen for the footy too. Did I meantion the cheap beer.

Bit of an odd one this. It's slap bang in the middle of plastic student land, and from the outside looks like another trendy pine-furniture-and-bottled-beer type place. However, it's owned by a local brewery, and has a large selection of locally brewed ales, as well as the now obligatory selection of french raspberry beers and belgium beers with elephants on the bottle. There's about as much atmosphere in the place as there is on the moon, but the beer is pretty good and it's not usually particularly crowded. Of course, it'll probably have changed hands and been done out again into something else by the time you read this, Fallowfield being what it is.
