Wife and I with dog called in last Thursday evening whist on holiday. Very friendly welcome for us and treats for the dog. Good choice of 4 ever-changing local real ales and well-priced for the area. People on the next table commented on how good the food was so we booked for the next evening. The food was indeed very good but had to wait an hour for it to arrive. Yes they were busy with all tables taken but even our very pleasant waitress appeared embarrassed by the time taken. Maybe we were unlucky and I would happily try again on our next holiday as in every other respect it could not be faulted.

My wife and I dined here on our 41st anniversary and it was wonderful.
The food (10.50 for a 3 course meal) was absolutely delightful and plenty of it.
I asked for a cushion for the wooden chair and they brought two!
The waitres was so helpful, you could not ask for more.
Make a detour and call here. You will not be disappointed.

Shame that this pub seems to be getting progressively worse. We recently went for an evening meal and found the menu to be limited with cheap deals on offer. Unfortunately the standard was poor and it'll be our last visit.

Smashing friendly pub run by Maggie. I eat there fairly regularly and the food is excellent. Probably best to book at weekend evenings though the restaurant is open from 12 noon to 3.00pm and 6.00pm to 9.00pm on Fridays, 12noon to 9.00pm on Saturdays and 12noon to 8.00pm on Sundays. Two good real ales as well!

This is one of the best pubs i have ever been in it has lots of charm and is really cosy in the winter when the log fires are burning. The food is very good home cooked and lots of it. Only been on a Monday so don't know how busy weekends are and is reasonably priced. Well worth the visit.

The pub has a warm and friendly atmosphere. The food is very good and fits in well with the seasons. I recommend winter as the best time as there are always log fires on and the place is very cosy.
