Duke of Connaught, Norwichback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
The building here is no longer a pub. There are some flats here now and what appears to be a housing association office. The good thing is that the Fat Cat is only a few minutes walk away.

The Duke of Connaught has ceased trading at the time of writing January 2011

Great, friendly little local pub. Paul, the landlord, will always give you a warm welcome. He has some nice Winters brewery ales too. Give him a look some time, you won't regret it.

Love this pub. So many happy memories as a student, living just around the corner on Grant street. Down there practically every night with housemate. Landlord was brilliant (Paul), the beer excellent, and the atmosphere was great too. Many great nights in here with Paul's special cocktails. Such a shame if this pub were to go!

Don't judge a book by it's cover. A tired exterior gives way to a fresh interior, artificial flowers on the tables and a surprisingly light, airy atmosphere. As it is effectively the Winter's Brewery Tap the beers are lovingly dispensed...and you can drink it in peace with unobtrusive 60's music in the background! Won't suit trendies, and status seekers will not want to be seen heading indoors but mere mortals will enjoy a traditional supping zone!
